PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is taking players back in time with its upcoming Erangel Classic event. For a short period, the game will bring back features from its early days, including the original Erangel map layout, classic gunplay, and old skins and weapons.

Erangel has evolved over the years in both look and feel, but it holds a special place for many fans as the first battleground in PUBG. Recently, Taehyun Kim, PUBG Production Director discussed how nostalgia influenced the limited-time event and revealed that they even considered bringing back the classic bugs as part of the experience.

Return of Erangel’s Most Iconic Elements

PUBG Studios has detailed all the map changes coming to replace the current Erangel. While PUBG now features foggy and rainy weather, its early days had a unique atmosphere: navigating an unfamiliar map, stalking enemies without a kill cam, and a dreary environment. This nostalgic experience will return in Erangel Classic.

Players can once again begin each match by grabbing their favorite weapons from the wooden tables on the starting island. In addition, the Level 3 Helmet and classic skins will be available as world spawns. Kim described the helmet and classic skins as "the most representative elements" of the old PUBG and Erangel. Fans and casual players alike will recognize the iconic Spetsnaz Helmet, known for its narrow rectangular visor that covers just enough of the face.

Furthermore, the Tommy Gun will no longer appear in world spawns and will instead be exclusively available in Care Packages.

No Return of Bugs and Glitches

Kim mentioned that the desires of players and their nostalgia served as the "catalysts" for the development team's choice to reintroduce the old PUBG. Although the UI and gunplay balance weren't fully reverted to their original mechanics, they were redesigned to emulate those aspects. Certainly, many may recall the numerous bugs and glitches present in the early days of the game. Surprisingly, some players were able to overlook these flaws and still enjoy the game. Whether it was encountering a floating player cruising by because the game failed to recognize they were in a vehicle or experiencing random falls through different layers of the map, these quirks were part of PUBG's charm. The game’s Production Director mentioned that the development team considered reintroducing these bugs but ultimately decided against it.

PUBG Erangel Classic Event Details

During the Erangel Classic event, players will experience a throwback to 2017 with old weapons, fonts, and graphics making a comeback. When in firefights, it might feel like 2017 again due to reduced recoil and longer time to down enemies.

Along with the old gunplay mechanics, players can get an armored UAZ by firing a flare gun outside the play zone, just like in the early days. The armored UAZ was one of the first vehicles in PUBG. Although it wasn't the most protective and was later replaced, it added more competition. The UAZ is less durable than the BRDM introduced in 2019, yet it has better mobility, can drive on any terrain, and is easier to repair.

PUBG Erangel Classic event will run from May 14 to May 28 on PC and from May 23 to June 6 on console.

P90 is an exclusive SMG on Livik which you cannot find in other classic maps. Although it's an exclusive weapon, P90 in BGMI and PUBG Mobile is still underrated. It's not highly estimated as the P90 PUBG PC in the new patch 13.2 where it is a new gun in the airdrop. It's even called the SMG version of Groza. Let's compare P90 in two versions of PUBG here.

#1. Damage

Despite the same name, P90 in PUBG PC and P90 in PUBG Mobile have different statistics. The first difference between these two versions is the base damage.

• P90 in BGMI and PUBG Mobile has a base damage of 30 HP/hit.
• In PUBG PC, P90 has a base damage of 35 HP/hit.

Besides, the firing rate also makes them different. In specific, P90 in PUBG PC continues to surpass this gun in PUBG Mobile and BGMI.

• In BGMI and PUBG Mobile, P90's firing rate is 700 rounds per minute.
• P90 in PUBG PC has an insane firing rate of 1000 rounds per minute.

As a result, the damage per second (DPS) of P90 in PUBG PC is much higher than that of P90 in PUBG Mobile.

• Its DPS in PUBG Mobile is 350HP/s.
• The DPS of P90 in PUBG PC is 583 HP/s.

Therefore, the P90 PUBG PC is much more powerful than this gun in the mobile version. Although they are the same gun, their features are not the same in the two versions.

#2. Spawn Rate

The fourth difference between P90 in PUBG PC and P90 in PUBG Mobile is the spawn rate.

• In PUBG PC, P90 only appears in the classic and custom airdrops, but it spawns in all PUBG maps.
• P90 in PUBG Mobile spawns on the map Livik only but players can loot it everywhere on the map.

Therefore, it's hard to conclude which P90 version is more popular and easier to loot.

#3. Sight/Scope

P90 in PUBG PC and P90 in PUBG Mobile have different iron sight and scope slots.

• P90 in PUBG Mobile and BGMI has a flat iron sight which is really hard for users to aim and shoot. However, it supports from red dot and holographic sight to 6X scope.
• In PUBG PC, P90 does not have the iron sight because it has a pre-equipped holo and flip sight. The flip sight equals a 2X scope in PUBG Mobile. Therefore, it does not support other scopes.

However, the pre-equipped scopes in PUBG PC P90 are good enough for close-range combat and face-to-face combat. This gun is very weak in long-range combat, so you don't need to attach 4X or 6X scope for it. Moreover, P90 also has a laser scope to support players when using hip-fire in face-to-face combat.

#4. Attachments

Apart from scope, P90 in two versions of PUBG also has different attachment slots.

• In PUBG PC, P90 is still good without attachments. But it supports many attachments, including cheek pad, laser, scope, suppressor, and grip.
• P90 in PUBG Mobile also supports a laser sight, scopes (from red dot, holo, to 6X), and all muzzle attachments (suppressor, compensator, flash hider, and barrel extended). You need these attachments to master PUBG Mobile P90.

#5. Ammo & Reload Duration

P90 in two versions uses different types of ammunition. It's a huge difference between PUBG Mobile and PUBG PC.

• P90 in PUBG Mobile uses 9mm ammunition with 50 rounds per load.
• P90 in PUBG PC uses 5.7mm ammo with 50 rounds per load. This ammo type is very rare because it only spawns in airdrops.

The reload duration of this gun in these two versions is longer than other weapons due to larger magazines.

• P90 PUBG PC takes you 3.4/3.8 seconds to reload.
• P90 PUBG Mobile takes you 3.1/3.4 seconds to reload.

This is the only advantage of P90 PUBG Mobile over this gun in PUBG PC. Moreover, P90 in PUBG PC is more silent than that in PUBG Mobile.

With the coming of a new P90 in PUBG PC, developers of PUBG Mobile and BGMI may make some changes in this gun of the mobile version to make it less underrated.

PUBG 13.1 Update Release Date

The upcoming PUBG update will be launched on August 4th on PC and August 12th on consoles. Players can experience it very soon this week. Although it's not a big update like the Taego update, it still brings to the game a lot of exciting features. PUBG is getting more interesting with lots of new content.

New Features Of PUBG Xbox One Update

PUBG also reviewed all the new features in this update in a Patch Report video. Here are all additions in version 13.1.

#1. Burning Plane

The first change in the latest PUBG update is the burning plane which makes PUBG more realistic and exciting. The plane will decrease both its speed and height. When you are on a burning plane, you need to make a quick decision on where to land and jump out of it.

If you jump late, you cannot fly too far. It will make the gameplay change a bit. If players can't get out of it before it drops them automatically, their HP will decrease by 50% because of the explosion effect.

#2. Multi-Care Packages

PUBG PC players asked the game developers to increase the number of loots and airdrops. Therefore, they add 5 to 15 care packages every flight to bring players more supplies to loot. Then, each supply fight will drop 6 to 16 loot crates containing bullets, medicines, throwables, weapons, etc.

Players can get everything they need for the game from these crates. These airdrops are so attractive and appealing that more players want to rob them. As a result, the area of these loot crates will be hotter than ever before. So, don't spend too much time shopping. Leave before you become one of these loot crates.

#3. Secret Rooms

Besides, there is a secret room on the new map Taego which costs thousands of dollars. This room contains the best weapons and supplies. But it's definitely not easy to access and loot these luxurious supplies.

Players have to find keys on the map to open this room. The facilities in this room can make you have to chance to win. Players can also find the self-AED kits here. If you use them wisely, the Chicken Dinner is on your plate.

#4. Item Spawn Changes In Taego

The developers also changed the item spawn rate. They increase the spawn rate of self-AEDkits by 37%. However, the spawn rate of grips decreases by 1%, Molotovs by 3%, and Stun Grenades by 14%. Besides, C4, spike trap, and Emergency Pickup in Miramar also appear in Taego.

#5. Weapon Changes

PUBG developers have realized that DMRs were too OP. Therefore, they made some changes in DMRs and Bolt-action SRs. In specific, the initial bullet speed of bolt-action SRs will increase by 20-25m/s. Therefore, the damage drop at a long distance will decrease by 5%.

Besides, the scope-in speed, reload speed, and rate of fire will increase significantly. Meanwhile, DMRs will get a nerf in bullet drop and damage drop. In addition, QBZ's base damage increases from 41 to 42. The horizontal recoil of G36C and QBZ also decline.

#6. Sanhok 2.0 Updates

The game added many trees and rocks to the map to give players more cover when running along the riverbank, on the hills and around mashes. It makes this map more balanced. Then, the gameplay will change a bit on Sanhok 2.0.

PUBG Patch 12.2 is the latest update with lots of mind-blowing features, such as a new map, two new weapons, and more. Let's explore this update here.

#1. New Map Taego & Comeback BR System

In previous articles, we have discussed the new map in PUBG 12.2. It's an 8x8 urban Eastern-themed map. It's one of the two largest maps in PUBG up to now. This new map arrives with the Comeback BR system. This system allowed killed players in the first phase of the match to respawn in a separate area in the second phase.

The survivors from this phase can come back to the main battle. The Comeback BR system is only available in the squad mode in TAEGO. When you get the chance to rejoin the battle royale match, take the chance to get Chicken Dinner. Previously, it's rumored to be the Respawn Royale Mode.

#2. Self-Revive Kit

It's another exclusive feature on TAEGO in PUBG Patch 12.2. You can collect Self-Revive Kit across the map. When players get knocked, they can use this kit to revive themselves. It's very useful when you are far away from your teammates.

Therefore, you should keep at least one kit in your backpack. Then, use it to pick yourself back. If one member of the squad has this item in his backpack, the whole squad will remain knocked instead of eliminated.

#3. New Weapons

There are two new exclusive weapons in TAEGO: an AR and a DMR.

• The K2 is a 5.56 AR. It supports all magazines and muzzles for ARs. Moreover, you can attach up to 6x scope. Besides, it has three firing modes: single, burst, and full-auto, making it a versatile and useful weapon.

• The MK12 is a new 5.56 DMR in PUBG. You can attach both AR and DMR attachments to this gun. You can use stock to make this gun stable. Besides, this DMR supports up to 8x scope.

#4. New Vehicle

On such a large map, the vehicle is a crucial element to survive. This new map also comes with a new vehicle along with old vehicles in this game. Pony Coupe is a new car that only appears on this map. It's inspired by a Hyundai concept car in 1974. The maximum speed of Pony Coupe reaches up to 150km/h. Although it has 4 seats, the two back seats are pretty narrow. Therefore, your teammates sitting back cannot shoot or peek out.

#5. Survival Pass: Taego & Crates

This new Survival Pass in PUBG Patch 12.2 includes many unlockable rewards from level 1 to 50. From level 55 to 100, players need to buy Premium Pass to unlock more precious rewards. Sanhok 2.0: Old vs New

1 - Bootcamp

From the picture above, we can clearly see that the Bootcamp area has been modified greatly, favoring a symmetrical design, with the same buildings placed opposite each other on all sides. This means there would not be any advantage for directions of approaches - in the old version, the gate of the building was placed at one side and people who land on that side would get to the target faster.

2 - Docks

Sanhok's industrial dock for large ships would be transformed into a wooden, primitive dock which also serves as a "party zone". This is actually a lot more fitting to the theme of the area, as it is supposed to be an underdeveloped island. There is also a new building on the hills behind the docks as well.

3 - Ruins

PUBG complied details of the changes at the end of the cinematic - and looks like the Ruins is also going to be changed as well. Overall, the old ruins look really underwhelming compared to the new one - which is a full-blown Angkor Wat style of architecture. With the new covers, fights here would be much more intense.

The C4 has been leaked from a very long time ago but was never revealed until now. PUBG just officially announced the 7.3 Update, which is coming to the Test Servers of PUBG tomorrow.

The 7.3 Update will bring PUBG new changes to vehicles, a new C4 weapon, and a few other changes.

Vehicle changes

Vehicles are getting a huge buff in this upcoming patch of PUBG. Vehicles will no longer explode right away when running out of HP. Instead, the engine will be set on fire and the vehicle will explode 5 seconds later. But there are exceptions such as the Red Zone and the C4 which will explode a vehicle instantly. Vehicles won't take damage when they are rolled over.

The damage vehicles take will be various in each area. The front area which has the engine takes 100% damage. The body area takes 75% damage. The roof area takes 50% damage. This means vehicles are now tanker, especially when running away.

New Weapon: C4

C4 will be the most powerful explosive weapon ever in PUBG. It has an effective radius of 25 meters, as large as an entire block. Unlike Frag Grenade, which you can just hide behind any obstacle to avoid it, the C4 can deal damage through covers. As long as you are in its radius, there is no way you can avoid it.

The C4 is heavy so you can't carry many of them as well as throw it far away. It can stick to any surface other than players. After deploying, it will start making "beep" sounds and explode after 16 seconds. Make sure you are not inside its impact radius when it explodes. If you no longer hear the beep sounds, you are no longer inside the impact radius of the C4.

The impact radius of the C4 is 25 meters and the lethal radius is 15 meters.

You can find the C4 randomly around the world and in airdrops on Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, and Sanhok.

This is a true game-changer weapon as it can force every single player in a 25 meters area to move away or die and there is no way to get around that. This is the ultimate weapon to fight campers who hide in buildings in city areas.

PUBG has just announced that Update 7.2 is now live on the Test Servers and will come to the Live Servers in a few days. Apart from some weapons changes, the 3 highlights in this update are Bot Opponents, Rank Mode, and indestructible Armor. Now, let's dive into the details of each change in the patch below.

Ranked Mode

The skill gap has always been a big problem that affects the playing experience of many players in PUBG, especially lately. New players and casual players get frustrated because there are too many experienced players that kill them in the blink of an eye while experienced players get bored because of easy matches.

So from now on, PUBG will replace Survivor Title with the Ranked system.

• Players will be able to find Ranked matches separately from normal matches with Squad TPP or Squad FPP.
• Each match only has 64 players.
• Team members in a Squad cannot have their ranks too far apart from each other (10 Division).
• Players who abandon games after having loaded into the lobby will receive penalties.
• Maps will be chosen randomly among Erangel, Miramar, or Sanhok.
• No Crossbow, Glider, Red Zone.
• More loots and increase Blue Zone Speed

There is a total of 6 Tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master), each tier has 5 Divisions. You rank points will be determined by your Kills, Assists, Personal placement in each game. Players who are Diamond and above will have their rank reduced if they don't play for a week or more.

At the end of each season, players will get unique rewards based on their Tier. Those rewards can only be obtained in one season only through Ranked mode.

Bot Opponents

Bots are somethings that everyone thinks of in PUBG Mobile and not PUBG, but here they are now. Bots will only appear in normal matches and not Ranked matches so try hard players will have nothing to worry about. The number of bot in each match will be varied.

For now, bots won't be able to  lean, jump, ledge grab, and use throwables. More adjustment for bots will come to the game in later updates.

Armor

The dev has decided to make all armors in PUBG indestructible so players can fight continuously. Armors still have health but they won't be destroyed when their health run out. Instead they will still offer the wearer 20% protection from bullets and extra inventory space, doesn't matter if it is Level 3 vest or Level 1.

This change will reduce the disadvantage of players who fight a lot and doesn't have time to get a new vest.

Weapons and other changes

M416 gets nerf a little bit and some other ARs got some buffs so players can have more options. Shotguns get a slight buff for reload speed, damage, and accuracy.

You can now pour gas our of Gas Can on the ground and set it on fire with gunshots, grenade, Molotov. The fire lasts for 20 seconds and deal 20 damage per second (the same as Molotov). You can also throw Gas Can away, leaving a trail of gas on the ground to blow up the Gas Can easier.

PUBG Corp. Cut Down Bot Population

Recently, PUBG increased the number of bots in console and Stadia platforms to make the game easier for beginners. However, it drove the players crazy when they met too many bots instead of real players. They said it destroyed their experience in this shooting game.

To respond to that backlash of fans, PUBG Corp. decreased the number of bots in the latest update 7.1. The update has come on Tuesday, April 28^th, 2020. The devs of PUBG Corp. has announced in a post on Reddit that they declined the bot population for the top 75% of PUBG players. The rest 25% of players who are beginners in this game still experience a high bot population to make them enjoy the game. If these lower-skilled players are matched with pro players, they cannot experience much.

This action of PUBG Corp. proved that the devs are listening to fans’ feedback seriously. The game publisher is trying their best and investing a lot to make the game most enjoyable for players. The devs are getting feedbacks from players and improving the game every day. They are attempting to bring PUBG to the crown position in the battle royale game genre as it was three years ago.

However, many players commented on Reddit that they wanted PUBG devs to remove bots completely. They also noted that they see no real change. But keep in mind that the number of bots only declines during peak hours when the number of real players is high.

Vikendi has finally returned to the map roster of PUBG with the release of the 7.1 update. Due to its low popularity, the map was taken out in Season 6 for a major overhaul - and since then, PUBG Corp. has been giving it a lot of attention. A lot of things have been changed compared to the original version.

They have been gathering feedback from testers in order to fix the map as well - the smaller Dino Park was enlarged into Dinoland, a much more elaborate theme park. The compound has a large railway system including nine different trains that you can ride on. There is overall less snow on Vikendi, but it is still more than what was originally planned - the testers managed to convince them to add more snow into the map.

Due to the lack of snow, the unique snow bikes and snowmobiles have been removed, with motorbikes of two variants replacing them. Some smaller settlements like Tovar and Movatra have been removed, while some like Volnova and Abbey have been expanded. A new Cargo depot is also added, as people seem to love hanging out in those.

Overall, the new and upgraded Dinoland is the center of this update. There won't be Dinosaurs, but you would still be able to play around in the theme park, including its Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster. The Reworked Vikendi would be available in 2 variants: clear and Snowy weather - the night version would come at a later date, as the devs are currently working on some visual fixes. Vikendi 2.0 might even get ported to PUBG Mobile first in order to boost the map's popularity.
