Recently, Taehyun Kim, PUBG Production Director discussed how nostalgia influenced the limited-time event and revealed that they even considered bringing back the classic bugs as part of the experience.

Return of Erangel’s Most Iconic Elements

PUBG Studios has detailed all the map changes coming to replace the current Erangel. While PUBG now features foggy and rainy weather, its early days had a unique atmosphere: navigating an unfamiliar map, stalking enemies without a kill cam, and a dreary environment. This nostalgic experience will return in Erangel Classic.

Players can once again begin each match by grabbing their favorite weapons from the wooden tables on the starting island. In addition, the Level 3 Helmet and classic skins will be available as world spawns. Kim described the helmet and classic skins as "the most representative elements" of the old PUBG and Erangel. Fans and casual players alike will recognize the iconic Spetsnaz Helmet, known for its narrow rectangular visor that covers just enough of the face.

Furthermore, the Tommy Gun will no longer appear in world spawns and will instead be exclusively available in Care Packages.

No Return of Bugs and Glitches

Kim mentioned that the desires of players and their nostalgia served as the "catalysts" for the development team's choice to reintroduce the old PUBG. Although the UI and gunplay balance weren't fully reverted to their original mechanics, they were redesigned to emulate those aspects. Certainly, many may recall the numerous bugs and glitches present in the early days of the game. Surprisingly, some players were able to overlook these flaws and still enjoy the game. Whether it was encountering a floating player cruising by because the game failed to recognize they were in a vehicle or experiencing random falls through different layers of the map, these quirks were part of PUBG's charm. The game’s Production Director mentioned that the development team considered reintroducing these bugs but ultimately decided against it.

PUBG Erangel Classic Event Details

During the Erangel Classic event, players will experience a throwback to 2017 with old weapons, fonts, and graphics making a comeback. When in firefights, it might feel like 2017 again due to reduced recoil and longer time to down enemies.

Along with the old gunplay mechanics, players can get an armored UAZ by firing a flare gun outside the play zone, just like in the early days. The armored UAZ was one of the first vehicles in PUBG. Although it wasn't the most protective and was later replaced, it added more competition. The UAZ is less durable than the BRDM introduced in 2019, yet it has better mobility, can drive on any terrain, and is easier to repair.

PUBG Erangel Classic event will run from May 14 to May 28 on PC and from May 23 to June 6 on console.

PUBG Lynx AMR Vs AWM

After Lynx AMR was introduced in PUBG, the top position of AWM is threatened. Let's compare these two most powerful SRs in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds game in terms of damage, bullet velocity, ammo capacity, firing rate, and attachments here.

#1. Base Damage

Firstly, Lynx AMR has higher headshot damage and base damage than AWM.

Lynx's base damage is 153.4 and its headshot damage is 295. Meanwhile, AWM's headshot damage is 262.5 and its base damage is 136.5. Lynx is very powerful because it's designed to destroy vehicles in PUBG. You can explore a car with only 3 hits from this new SR, which AWM cannot do.

#2. Initial Velocity

The bullet velocity is a very important statistic of long-range weapons like Lynx and AWM. These sniper rifles need high initial bullet velocity in order that the bullet can fly farther with higher accuracy. AWM has the highest initial bullet speed in PUBG's arsenal which is up to 945m/s. It's higher than that of Lynx which is approximately 900m/s.

Therefore, AWM is better in long-range combat. However, their effective range equals which is 1km.

#3. Ammo Capacity

PUBG 13.1 Update Release Date

New Features Of PUBG Xbox One Update

#1. Burning Plane

The first change in the latest PUBG update is the burning plane which makes PUBG more realistic and exciting. The plane will decrease both its speed and height. When you are on a burning plane, you need to make a quick decision on where to land and jump out of it.

If you jump late, you cannot fly too far. It will make the gameplay change a bit. If players can't get out of it before it drops them automatically, their HP will decrease by 50% because of the explosion effect.

#2. Multi-Care Packages

PUBG PC players asked the game developers to increase the number of loots and airdrops. Therefore, they add 5 to 15 care packages every flight to bring players more supplies to loot. Then, each supply fight will drop 6 to 16 loot crates containing bullets, medicines, throwables, weapons, etc.

Players can get everything they need for the game from these crates. These airdrops are so attractive and appealing that more players want to rob them. As a result, the area of these loot crates will be hotter than ever before. So, don't spend too much time shopping. Leave before you become one of these loot crates.

#3. Secret Rooms

Besides, there is a secret room on the new map Taego which costs thousands of dollars. This room contains the best weapons and supplies. But it's definitely not easy to access and loot these luxurious supplies.

#5. Weapon Changes

PUBG developers have realized that DMRs were too OP. Therefore, they made some changes in DMRs and Bolt-action SRs. In specific, the initial bullet speed of bolt-action SRs will increase by 20-25m/s. Therefore, the damage drop at a long distance will decrease by 5%.

Besides, the scope-in speed, reload speed, and rate of fire will increase significantly. Meanwhile, DMRs will get a nerf in bullet drop and damage drop. In addition, QBZ's base damage increases from 41 to 42. The horizontal recoil of G36C and QBZ also decline.

#6. Sanhok 2.0 Updates

The game added many trees and rocks to the map to give players more cover when running along the riverbank, on the hills and around mashes. It makes this map more balanced. Then, the gameplay will change a bit on Sanhok 2.0.

Krafton is a relatively new company from South Korean, with their only successful title being PUBG and its mobile version. However, they are highly successful games, and the revenue generated by them is more than enough to fund other projects.

They are working on a number of titles, most of them are PUBG-related, but there are also other spin-offs in the works, such as The Callisto Protocol, PUBG Cowboy, and Korean Witcher.

Callisto Protocol: Horror PUBG in Space?

The Callisto Protocol is a third-person survival horror game, with a release date scheduled in 2022. It is currently developed by a subsidiary of Krafton, Striking Distance Studios. The Callisto Protocol’s story takes set in the year 2320, which is around 300 years after the events of PUBG.

The story takes place on an off-world colony named Black Iron, which is stationed on Callisto, one of Jupiter’s moons. Due to the low levels of radiation, it seemed suitable for the human race to settle there and colonize. However, deep inside the colony lurks a terrible dark secret...

Overall, it is likely that this series is going to be very similar to Dead Space or the famous horror movie "The Thing", as Glen Schofield, co-creator of the Dead Space series, is working on the game.

Korean Witcher

This is probably a "niche project" that Krafton is working on. "Korean Witcher" is the nickname of their new RPG based on a 2003 Korean novel 'A bird that drinks tears'. The story centers around a "monster hunter" who kills and eats monsters, which has some similarities to the Witcher. The monsters in the games and the books are based on Korean Mythology, unlike the Witcher's monsters.

This is the only original project Krafton is working on that does not have any relation to the PUBG Universe.

PUBG Cowboy

PUBG Cowboy or Project Cowboy is yet another PUBG spinoff. Originally, it is a PUBG custom game set on Miramar that solely used firearms from the Wild West. However, Krafton decided to make it a full-blown game after the project get expanded enough.

It is likely that this will be some sort of Cowboy game similar to Red Dead Redemption, but with survival gameplay similar to DayZ. In PUBG you can only use some Western weapons like pistols and the Win94, but in PUBG Cowboy, pistols, bolt-action rifles, knives, bows, and arrows are all possibilities.

PUBG Patch 12.2 is the latest update with lots of mind-blowing features, such as a new map, two new weapons, and more. Let's explore this update here.

#1. New Map Taego & Comeback BR System

In previous articles, we have discussed the new map in PUBG 12.2. It's an 8x8 urban Eastern-themed map. It's one of the two largest maps in PUBG up to now. This new map arrives with the Comeback BR system. This system allowed killed players in the first phase of the match to respawn in a separate area in the second phase.

The survivors from this phase can come back to the main battle. The Comeback BR system is only available in the squad mode in TAEGO. When you get the chance to rejoin the battle royale match, take the chance to get Chicken Dinner. Previously, it's rumored to be the Respawn Royale Mode.

#2. Self-Revive Kit

It's another exclusive feature on TAEGO in PUBG Patch 12.2. You can collect Self-Revive Kit across the map. When players get knocked, they can use this kit to revive themselves. It's very useful when you are far away from your teammates.

Therefore, you should keep at least one kit in your backpack. Then, use it to pick yourself back. If one member of the squad has this item in his backpack, the whole squad will remain knocked instead of eliminated.

#3. New Weapons

There are two new exclusive weapons in TAEGO: an AR and a DMR.

• The K2 is a 5.56 AR. It supports all magazines and muzzles for ARs. Moreover, you can attach up to 6x scope. Besides, it has three firing modes: single, burst, and full-auto, making it a versatile and useful weapon.

• The MK12 is a new 5.56 DMR in PUBG. You can attach both AR and DMR attachments to this gun. You can use stock to make this gun stable. Besides, this DMR supports up to 8x scope.

#4. New Vehicle

On such a large map, the vehicle is a crucial element to survive. This new map also comes with a new vehicle along with old vehicles in this game. Pony Coupe is a new car that only appears on this map. It's inspired by a Hyundai concept car in 1974. The maximum speed of Pony Coupe reaches up to 150km/h. Although it has 4 seats, the two back seats are pretty narrow. Therefore, your teammates sitting back cannot shoot or peek out.

#5. Survival Pass: Taego & Crates

This new Survival Pass in PUBG Patch 12.2 includes many unlockable rewards from level 1 to 50. From level 55 to 100, players need to buy Premium Pass to unlock more precious rewards. Origin & Statistics of K2

The full name of PUBG new weapn K2 is Daewoo K2. It was invented in 1985 in South Korea to replace K1 and M16A1. It uses 5.56mm ammo or green ammo in PUBG. The base damage of this new gun is 41 like some other 5.56 assault rifles in this game. You can only get it on the new map Taego.

Therefore, you need 2-3 bullets to take down an enemy wearing a level-2 or level-3 helmet with headshots. If you shoot at the enemy's chest or other body parts, you will need 4-10 bullets within a 50-meter range. It supports three firing modes: single, burst, and auto.

The initial bullet velocity of Daewoo K2 in PUBG is 880m/s. Therefore, the rate of bullet drop is pretty similar to SCAR-L. It's pretty better than M416 which got a nerf in recent updates.

Moreover, this new gun of PUBG has a high firing rate of 700rpm. Thus, K2 can shoot 11 bullets per second. Therefore, the DPS of this weapon is 478HP/S. It means that you can take an enemy down in only 0.17 seconds.

Best Attachments For K2

K2 only supports a few attachments. Firstly, you can attach a muzzle, such as a compensator, suppressor, or flash hider.

Based on the strategy and purpose, you choose the proper muzzle, but compensator and flash hider are two better choices for this gun to make it more stable. The sound of this gun is not as loud as other ARs, you don't need to use the suppressor.

You shouldn't use the canted sight because it will affect the iron sight of this K2 gun. Besides, attack an extended mag or quick-draw extended mag to increase the ammo capacity from 30 to 40 bullets per load. The PUBG new weapon K2 does not support foregrip, so its recoil will a bit higher than SCAR-L.

4 - Sanhok (Original)

Sanhok is a 4x4km island. It resembles a wide variety of islands in Thailand and the Philippines. It is the first map that the art team of PUBG Corp visited a location specifically for development... by physically being in the jungles and mountains in a humid Asian country.

5 - Erangel (Remastered)

Erangel Remastered adds the Vaulting feature, along with various visual updates.

6 - Karakin

Karakin is the 5th playable map for PUBG, a 2x2km island off the coast of North Africa. This is the first map where PUBG implements a Black Zone, where the layout changes every match.

7 - Vikendi (Remastered)

8 - Sanhok (Remastered)

New Gun K2 And New Map Taego In PUBG

The new map Taego and new gun K2 -  a legendary gun from South Korea are expected to come to PUBG in early July. In specific, the new map Taego in PUBG will arrive on the PC platform on July 7th and console on July 15th. Here are all the leaks about these two contents.

#1. PUBG New Map Named Taego

PUBG has leaked many codes related to this new map, such as Tiger and Kiki. Finally, Krafton decided to name it Taego. It's quite similar to Erangel. This new map also comprises a big island and a smaller one. Moreover, Taego will be an 8x8 map like Erangel and Miramar.

Moreover, Taego also comes along with a Respawn Royale mechanism like in Respawn Royale mode in LABS. The evidence is the appearance of LABS in the center of the map. It will bring a big change to the gameplay of this battle royale game when players will respawn unlimitedly until the whole team is cleared. Players will respawn after 100 seconds as on as at least one teammate still stays alive.
