Minecraft's new update system has given Mojang more freedom to focus on smaller details in the game, like making biomes better.]]>

The latest Minecraft snapshot has added some experimental features to improve the game's biomes. These include small changes to make the areas feel more realistic. The biggest update is for pigs, which now have warm and cold variants in certain biomes (though the regular pig will still appear). New features also include Leaf Litter blocks, Wildflowers, and falling leaf particles from trees and other plants.

These biome changes highlight Mojang's approach to using smaller, more frequent updates to improve Minecraft's biomes. The features in this snapshot are similar to the wolf variants introduced in the Armored Paws update, which tested the new 'drop' system. Minor updates like these have the potential to add small but meaningful details to Minecraft's biomes.

 • Birch Forest Upgrades & Fireflies
 • Underground Biomes
 • Biome-Based Structure Variation

Birch Forest Upgrades & Fireflies

Minecraft Biome Wish List
The latest Minecraft snapshot has added some experimental features to improve the game's biomes.

The Wildflowers introduced in Minecraft's latest snapshot are a welcome addition to Birch Forests (both types) and Meadows. This is exciting for fans because many hoped for a Birch Forest upgrade during The Wild Update. However, some misunderstood the concept art shown during that update's reveal as confirmed features, leading to disappointment. Fans imagined upgrades like new tree shapes, more foliage, and bracket fungi, which would make the biome look amazing. Wildflowers are similar to the plants in that concept art, so it would be exciting to see more of those ideas become a reality.

Minecraft should consider bringing back fireflies, a feature originally planned for The Wild Update but later removed. They were cut because frogs could eat them in the game, which isn’t accurate since fireflies are toxic to frogs in real life. A simple solution would be to remove this interaction. Adding fireflies would be worth it, as they created a beautiful ambiance in swamps, as seen in teaser footage. With recent updates focusing on ambient particle effects, fireflies would be a perfect fit.

Underground Biomes

Minecraft's Caves and Cliffs updates brought amazing new cave biomes, but apart from the Deep Dark, these underground areas don’t have much in the way of unique resources. While this isn’t necessarily a drawback, it would be great if some underground biomes offered special loot. Comparing Minecraft to Terraria is a bit overdone, but adding region-specific underground biomes for icy, desert, or jungle areas could work really well. These biomes could include exclusive features and unique loot, making exploration more rewarding and exciting.

Biome-Based Structure Variation

Minecraft's new 'drop' update system is a great chance to refresh structures for different climates. Pillager Towers could be adapted to fit their biomes while keeping enough consistency to stand apart from villages. Villages, already quite varied, could also improve with more differences, especially in trades and Raids. Adding unique Raid enemies or trade tables tied to specific biomes would make exploring more exciting and challenging. While the suggested changes to Villager trades have sparked debate, loosening some of the restrictions could make these updates more appealing to players.

Minecraft developer Mojang Studios might be teasing a new feature for the popular sandbox game. Read on to learn more!!!]]>

Minecraft developer Mojang Studios might be teasing a new feature for the popular sandbox game. They shared a picture of a Lodestone on the game's official Twitter account, sparking lots of guesses and theories from fans. The Lodestone is already a block in Minecraft, but some fans think this could mean a big update is coming, adding more ways to use the block.

Minecraft Update
Mojang Studios might be teasing a new feature for the popular sandbox game.

At the end of 2024, Mojang announced big changes to Minecraft's update schedule. After 15 years of adding improvements and new content, the studio decided to stop the usual summer release of one major update. Instead, they will release smaller updates more regularly throughout the year. Mojang explained that the updates will vary in size but will give players new features to enjoy more often, rather than making them wait a whole year for a big update.

A New Minecraft Feature

Fans have been enjoying Minecraft's smaller, more frequent updates, and now Mojang seems to be teasing a new feature for the next one. On Twitter, the official Minecraft account shared a picture of a Lodestone with two rocks and two side-eye emojis as the caption, leaving fans both surprised and puzzled. While the image might look like just some rocks to most people, the post's alt text confirms it's a Lodestone. However, what Mojang is hinting at with the Lodestone is still unclear and open to speculation.

Currently, Lodestone blocks in Minecraft have only one use: they let players change the direction of a compass so it always points to the block. Lodestones can be used in all three dimensions and can either be found in chest loot or crafted using Chiseled Stone Bricks and a Netherite Ingot. This block was introduced in Minecraft's 1.16 update, also called The Nether Update, and hasn’t been updated since. However, that might be about to change.

Fans have different ideas about what Mojang might be hinting at, but many think it could involve adding Magnetite, the mineral Lodestones are made from. If that’s true, the recipe for crafting a Lodestone block might change, replacing Netherite with Magnetite ore. The last big Minecraft update came in early December 2024 and introduced a spooky biome with new blocks, flowers, and a creepy hostile mob called The Creaking. There’s no official word yet on when the next update will drop, but with Mojang teasing new features, an announcement might be on the way.

Mojang could one day introduce a big update for vehicles, making long journeys much easier—or possibly more challenging.]]>

When players start exploring the blocky world of Minecraft, most of them will simply walk or run through the different biomes or multiplayer maps. But over the years, Mojang has added new ways to travel, giving players more options to try.

These options include saddles for riding pigs, horses, donkeys, and mules, as well as boats, minecarts, and the rare elytra, which lets players glide through the air. Over time, some of these items have been improved, like boats that can now carry two players or mobs. However, Mojang could one day introduce a big update for vehicles, making long journeys much easier—or possibly more challenging.

 • The Potential Benefits of a Minecraft Vehicle Update
 • Reimagining Boats: A Potential Minecraft Update
 • Why a Minecraft Vehicle Update Could Be Overcomplicated

The Potential Benefits of a Minecraft Vehicle Update

Minecraft Vehicles

Minecraft worlds are getting larger as biomes become more unique and varied. With the recent addition of the Pale Garden, the overworld now has 53 biomes, plus five in the Nether and five in the End. In survival mode, finding some of these rare biomes can be hard without using coordinates or external seed maps. To make traveling across worlds or reaching rare biomes easier, Mojang could add carts, carriages, and wagons that camels, cows, donkeys, horses, llamas, or mules could pull.

Just like the wagons used by 19th-century pioneers in the United States, these vehicles could help players transport items over long distances without filling up their own inventory. Mojang could add both two-wheeled and four-wheeled wagons for players to craft. A single mob could pull two-wheeled wagons but carry fewer items, while four-wheeled wagons might require multiple mobs and hold more.

On the other hand, four-wheeled wagons would need at least two mobs to pull them but could be pulled by more for faster travel. These larger wagons could carry more items, with enough space for two large chests and two utility blocks like a crafting table or furnace. This setup would let players bring most of their essential items along on long journeys to explore rare biomes.

Reimagining Boats: A Potential Minecraft Update

While wagons improve land travel, Minecraft's boats could also benefit from an update to make ocean journeys smoother. Right now, boats can carry two passengers, two mobs, or a single chest, and players can tow additional boats with leads. To enhance ocean travel, Mojang could introduce larger boats, two blocks wide and long, that could hold a large chest and two players at the same time.

It's worth noting that while donkeys, horses, and mules can’t currently pull anything in Minecraft, players can use a lead to pull other animals while riding these mobs.

Why a Minecraft Vehicle Update Could Be Overcomplicated

A large vehicle update for both land and sea could make traveling through vast worlds easier and more fun, but it might also seem out of place for Minecraft's survival style. Wagons and bigger boats could feel too advanced compared to the more DIY tools and equipment the game typically offers. After all, if players were stranded in the wild, they might not be able to craft large boats or wagons. Additionally, horses, donkeys, and mules might already provide enough transportation for most players, as horses can cover long distances quickly, and donkeys and mules can carry chests with 15 inventory slots.

Adding carts, carriages, and wagons to Minecraft could make traveling across large worlds easier and more fun. However, these vehicles might not work well in dense forests with closely spaced trees, like birch, oak, and spruce forests. Without changes to make trees taller or increase the space between them, these vehicles might not be useful in both new and old worlds.

<![CDATA[When Can We Expect Minecraft's Next Major Update?]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/when-can-we-expect-minecrafts-next-major-update-24299 Mon, 09 Dec 2024 04:26:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/when-can-we-expect-minecrafts-next-major-update-24299
Minecraft's new update strategy needs improvement, and 2025 will be key. The timing of upcoming updates is uncertain, leading to speculation.]]>

After the release of Tricky Trials, Mojang shared a new plan for Minecraft updates. Because the Armored Paws update, which separated the Armadillo and Wolf Armor from 1.21 into a mini-update, was well-received, Mojang decided to focus on smaller updates. While the studio has often released small content alongside big updates, now each year will feature several smaller updates.

Minecraft next update may come sooner

Minecraft The Garden Awakens
Minecraft The Garden Awakens

Minecraft received four updates this year, though some were bigger than others. Minecraft The Garden Awakens update has made 2024 a huge year for the sandbox game. When Mojang first revealed this new update structure, many fans thought nothing major would happen until 2025, especially after Armored Paws and Tricky Trials. Nonetheless, the quick pace of updates in 2024 showed how fast they can be released, sparking plenty of speculation about what Mojang will do next.

Minecraft's new update schedule is accelerating. The recent updates, Bundles of Bravery and The Garden Awakens, were released just a month apart. Given this rapid pace, we can expect the next Minecraft update to arrive as early as February or March of 2025. While we may not see such short intervals between updates consistently, this trend suggests that we can look forward to more frequent content releases from Mojang.

Another reason fans might expect an update sooner rather than later is the size of the update. In Mojang's original announcement about the new update structure, they referred to 1.20.3 (a very minor patch that made small changes like altering bats and decorative pots) as a "first trial" for the new drop style. Despite being small, these changes were appreciated. If updates of this size are considered acceptable for the smaller drops, a quick, smaller update could likely arrive soon.

While the recent pace of Minecraft updates is exciting, it's important to maintain a balance. If Mojang continues releasing updates every other month, it could lead to oversaturation. To ensure the game's longevity and the development team's well-being, a more moderate release schedule, such as one update every quarter or even every six months, might be more sustainable. While the recent smaller updates have been well-received, it's crucial to strike a balance between frequent releases and quality content.

It's also important to consider how some of Minecraft's 2024 content was released. For example, Bundles of Bravery was somewhat of an outlier. The Bundles feature and Hardcore mode for Bedrock had been in development for years, making that update more about tying up loose ends. Future updates, like The Garden Awakens, will be starting with a cleaner slate, so the quick gap between the first two mini-updates might not be as realistic for Mojang's plans. As a result, late March or early April still seem like reasonable timeframes for expecting the next update.

Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 and 5 are now available, focusing on fixing bugs and adding features to balance and stabilize the game in preparation for future updates.

Here’s what you need to know about Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 and 5.

Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 and 5: All fixes

Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 brings several changes focused on enhancing the gameplay experience with items. This update fixes a problem where text on maps in item frames was appearing through blocks, creating visual issues.

Minecraft 1 21 2 Pre Release 4 5

The pre-release also fixed an issue with the compass, which wasn’t showing the correct direction when held in the left hand. Additionally, a bug where clocks were mirrored and spun in the wrong direction when in the left hand has been addressed.

Regarding items, the pre-release fixed a bug where cooldowns for item stacks larger than 1 were shown in front of the item tooltip, making it hard to see. A similar fix was applied to the landing point of arrows, which was lower than in previous versions.

The crafting book also got a bug fix that previously caused all tabs except the top one to disappear when crafting an item for the first time. Additionally, invisible block entities and items were updated to prevent them from disappearing.

The Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 also addressed the issue of wandering traders appearing smaller than in earlier versions. However, while this was marked as fixed, sliding down honey blocks still feels different from previous versions and appears to be an ongoing issue.

In pre-release 5, there were just two changes. The first fix corrected a bug that prevented the recipe book from updating after using an available recipe. The second fix addressed an issue where arrows shot at walls while facing south would travel vertically instead of hitting horizontally.

These are the fixes from Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 and 5. These updates are being rolled out in anticipation of the upcoming Game Drop, which will introduce an array of new features as part of Minecraft's revamped update system.

For players eager to explore the woods carefully, here are 5 things to know about the Minecraft Pale Garden so far. Read on.]]>

The main highlight of Minecraft Live 2024, and the focus of much speculation leading up to the event, is the new Pale Garden biome, which has already intrigued the community. As players begin to explore this spooky area, the overall theme and intended atmosphere of this forested region are becoming clear.

Along with its unique mob, the Pale Garden appears to be the Overworld surface biome designed to balance the terrifying depths of the Deep Dark found in caves below. Additionally, the reveal and experimental snapshot for this new biome provide a glimpse of what feels like concept art, with plenty of room for additions and modifications. For players eager to explore these woods carefully, here are 5 things to know about the Minecraft Pale Garden so far.

Table of Contents

 • 1. Biome Ambiance
 • 2. Pale Flora
 • 3. The Creaking Heart
 • 4. New White Wood Blocks
 • 5. The Creaking

1. Biome Ambiance

One of the more intriguing yet somewhat unclear aspects of the Pale Garden is its sound design, which emphasizes ambiance in Minecraft, reminiscent of the time when fireflies were still in the game. While most biomes are typically quiet aside from mob sounds and music, the Pale Garden is particularly silent, enhancing its eerie atmosphere.

Pale Silence Minecraft
Pale Silence

In addition to the unusual quietness of the new biome, there appears to be a new way to incorporate ambient sounds. Certain blocks in the Pale Garden now produce specific sounds at night, such as the Creaking Heart, which adds an extra layer of eeriness. Beyond these current features, there’s great potential for introducing more ambient sounds, like leaves rustling or waves crashing, enhancing the overall atmosphere.

2. Pale Flora

For players looking to introduce new shades of gray to their builds or add a gothic touch to nature-themed designs, the Pale Garden features a selection of pale plants and a unique biome color. With new moss blocks and ghostly leaves available, there’s a distinct but limited variety to choose from.

Pale Flora Minecraft
Pale Flora

True to its name, the Pale Garden features drastically desaturated versions of typically green blocks, including standard grass and even jungle trees, making it an excellent choice for spookier builds. In terms of unique blocks, the pale leaves are now white across all biomes, offering strong potential for winter-themed designs. Additionally, the hanging moss provides great texture for underground builds, with the advantage that this hanging plant does not grow by itself.

3. The Creaking Heart

Described by developers as a "living block," the Creaking Heart serves as the true monster in the Pale Garden, using the Creaking as mere puppets to haunt, harm, and stalk players, fitting perfectly into the Bundles of Bravery theme. It is surprisingly well-hidden from a Vanilla perspective, so players will likely need an axe to chop down trees and remove the Creaking. As of the first experimental snapshot, the Creaking Heart blocks are finite and do not appear when players grow pale oak trees.

The Creaking Heart Minecraft
The Creaking Heart

The Creaking Heart, a living block, grants players the Monster Hunter and Monsters Hunted advancements, typically reserved for standard zombies and creepers. This unique block essentially functions as a mob, controlling the Creaking. By silk touching the heart and placing it between two upright logs, players can create their own Creaking spawner. When activated at night, a distinctive "awakening" sound plays. Additionally, attacking the Creaking mob produces a chilling "Creaking Heart screams" sound, further enhancing the eerie atmosphere of the garden.

4. New White Wood Blocks

For players focused on building, the Pale Garden introduces a brand-new wood type, adding white wood blocks to the game. While there are already various white blocks for design purposes, this new wood set provides builders with doors, fences, buttons, pressure plates, and more to work with.

Pale Oak Minecraft
Pale Oak

Pale Oak provides a great deal of versatility for players, with the main requirement being to locate the Pale Garden biome. With saplings, leaves, stripped log variants, and standard plank blocks, there's a diverse selection of monochromatic blocks for builders to utilize effectively.

5. The Creaking

The latest addition to the Minecraft roster, the Creaking, is a hostile mob that can only be found in the Pale Garden and currently drops no items when defeated. Clearly inspired by Weeping Angel mechanics, this living tree monster isn’t a significant threat on its own, but it can quickly become a problem when encountered in larger groups.

The Creaking Minecraft
The Creaking

The Creaking is essentially invulnerable compared to other recent hostile mobs like the Warden and the Breeze, and it can even trap the Warden in a loop of continuous attacks with no effect. Players can instantly destroy the Creaking once they locate the Creaking Heart that controls it, as currently, one Heart spawns and governs one Creaking. Until players find that Heart, they cannot harm the Creaking. While it doesn’t deal significant damage—only half a heart even against end-game armor—the real danger comes from overwhelming numbers. Its speed also means it can finish off players with low health after they've battled other mobs. Fortunately, as long as players keep the Creaking in their line of sight, it will remain unable to move.

During the recent Minecraft Live event, Mojang introduced a new hostile mob called Creaking. They shared important details about this creature and where players can find it. The developers also announced that this spooky mob, along with the new biome it will appear in, will be officially released later this year. Players will soon be able to test it in upcoming snapshots and beta/preview versions.

In this guide, we will share with you all about the Minecraft Creaking mob.

Minecraft Creaking mob: All rumors

The Creaking was initially brought up before Minecraft Live 2024. Its name and design were leaked early, despite Mojang's plans to showcase the mob at the official event.

Initially, the mob name and the new biome where it would spawn were accidentally leaked on the official game website. Two days before the live event, some fans started sharing images from the developer after-show footage that clearly displayed the new mob and its features. This was the second leak. Along with these photos, a new block called the creaking heart was also revealed.

During all of this, Mojang used its official social media accounts to share subtle hints and teasers about the mob. However, many dedicated fans were already aware of it by that point.

Mojang Studios announced the Minecraft Creaking mob during Minecraft Live on September 28, 2024.

What is Creaking mob in Minecraft?

The Creaking was completely revealed at the live event and showcased further during the developer after-show. In this part, the mob's creators explored the new biome and the Creaking, providing details about its features.

Minecraft Creaking Mob

The Creaking mob is slightly taller than the player’s character, and its texture resembles the tree trunks found in the Pale Garden biome. Its body is covered in dead vines that grow in the biome, helping it blend in with the forest.

A unique feature of the Creaking is that when it spawns in the Pale Gardens at night, it will only move toward a player if that player isn’t watching it. If a player has their eyes on the Creaking, it will remain stationary. This eerie mob isn’t very strong and can only inflict one heart of damage.

Players learned that attacking the Creaking won't cause it to die. They can hit the mob as many times as they want, but it won't take any damage or be defeated, even though it has only half a heart of health. Instead, the Creaking is associated with a new block called the creaking heart, a unique wood log block formed deep within a Pale Garden tree.

To eliminate the Creaking, players must find its heart inside one of the trees in the Pale Garden and break it. Once the heart is destroyed, the mob will simply crumble and perish.

Currently, the Creaking does not drop any experience points or items upon its death. Additionally, the new creaking heart block can only be used to summon the mob at night if it is placed again between 2 pale oak log blocks.

Mojang has revealed some exciting upcoming features for Minecraft, including a creepy new biome, strange enemy mobs, and more.]]>

Instead of the big annual updates that Minecraft fans are used to, Mojang has changed its approach to focus on smaller, more frequent content "drops" for the game. These updates aim to keep players engaged throughout the year by introducing new biomes, mobs, and mechanics at a steadier pace. Fans will also notice that there won't be a Minecraft mob vote this year, as Mojang has retired this event due to player feedback that it divided the community and led to unused game ideas.

The upcoming content drop, called the Bundles of Bravery, is set to arrive soon and will introduce bundles to both main versions of Minecraft. Bundles were first shown during Minecraft Live in 2020, and they will help players organize and expand their inventories more effectively. This drop will also add hardcore mode to Minecraft Bedrock Edition. The addition of this permadeath mode has been controversial because of various bugs in the Bedrock version, some of which can cause players to suddenly take damage and die.

Minecraft Pale Garden Biome

Players can also expect new content soon, including the eerie pale garden biome. This quiet area stands out from other overworld biomes in Minecraft, featuring thick, grey foliage and a lack of mobs. However, when night falls, players may encounter creaking tree-like monsters in the pale garden. These creatures are immune to direct damage and can only move when not being watched.

To defeat the creaking monsters, players will need to find and destroy creaking heart blocks hidden in the trees of the biome. These blocks can be collected and used, along with a new type of pale wood found in the upcoming biome. While Mojang hasn't given exact dates yet, it looks like players won't have to wait long to experience the new environment in an upcoming preview version.

The Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.30 patch introduced various improvements, bug fixes and adjustments for better parity, including some updates on the bundles. Let's check out!]]>

The Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.30 patch brought several enhancements, including bug fixes and parity adjustments.

Villagers will now remain silent while sleeping in beds at night, clearly indicating they are asleep. Additionally, Stone Mason villagers have been renamed to simply Mason to align with Minecraft Java Edition. Foxes in Bedrock Edition have also received a health update, reducing their total from 10 hearts to five to match Java Edition. Furthermore, a new experimental feature, bundles, has been introduced to improve inventory management.

Table of Contents

 • New Experimental Bundles in Minecraft
 • Bundles Potential Benefits in Minecraft

New Experimental Bundles in Minecraft

When building a new world in the sandbox game, players can activate the bundle experiment to use bundles in-game. However, bundles won’t show up in regular Survival, Creative, or Realm worlds since they are still in preview and beta phases, meaning they might change at any time. In a new world with the bundle experiment enabled, players can craft a bundle by placing one piece of string above one piece of leather in the crafting menu. After that, they can experiment with combining various items into the same stack.

Bundles In Minecraft

Bundles occupy a single inventory slot but can't be stacked once filled with items. Players can store up to 64 different types of items in a bundle, even if they're not the same kind. For instance, a bundle might contain 32 gold ingots, 12 arrows, 10 sticks, six cooked steaks, and four torches. Players can open a bundle to take out individual items, and the bundle icon will show the selected item protruding from it. If players are holding bundles, they can empty the entire contents onto the ground for quick access and storage.

Bundle Issues in Minecraft

As bundles are still in preview and beta stages, players may encounter some bugs and issues. For example, while multiple stackable items can fit in a bundle, items that typically occupy an entire slot—like weapons or armor—will fill a bundle on their own. Additionally, when moving items in bundles on touch devices, the wrong item icon may briefly appear. There are also issues when bundles are placed in decorated pots, given to allays, or transferred through hoppers and droppers, which can result in losing their contents.

Bundles Potential Benefits in Minecraft

For much of Minecraft's history, only identical items could stack in a single inventory slot—like 64 wooden blocks, 16 eggs, or 16 honey bottles. While this system was straightforward, players often found their inventories overflowing while mining or exploring, leading to multiple trips back to their base or the need to drop less desirable items. To improve inventory management, bundles were first tested in Minecraft with the Java Snapshot 20w45a in 2020, but they weren’t reintroduced until 2024. Although bundles are still classified as an experiment, their proper implementation could significantly change the way players interact with the game.

As bundles currently favor resource blocks over tools and weapons, they could enhance players' mining efficiency. Rather than juggling multiple stacks of cobblestone or deepslate, players could use several bundles to carry just a few stone blocks, freeing up most of their inventory space for valuable ores, metals, and minerals.

Bundles could enable players to better prepare for risky situations by carrying items like honey bottles, buckets of milk, and various types of food. These enhancements would allow players to mine in Minecraft for longer periods without needing to frequently return to base.

While there are no new features or content added to the Minecraft Snapshot 24w35a, fans still have many things to check out and get used to.]]>

Minecraft Snapshot 24w35a for Java Edition came out on August 28, including various changes, tweaks to one of its Experimental Features, and many bug fixes. While there are no new features or content added, fans still have many things to check out and get used to.

Table of Contents

 • 1. Bundle item selections
 • 2. Pillager raid spawning
 • 3. Armor swapping
 • 4. Trader llama aggression
 • 5. Snow golem aiming

1. Bundle item selections

Bundle Item Selections Minecraft

In earlier Minecraft Java snapshots, you could use number keys to quickly select items in bundles. However, Mojang found that this conflicted with the old functions of the number keys. To avoid issues, they decided to remove the bundle item shortcuts so players could use the number keys as they were originally intended.

Additionally, the number key shortcuts were seen as less effective because bundles can now display more than 10 items at once.

2. Pillager raid spawning

Pillager Raid Spawning Minecraft

In Minecraft: Java Edition, there were times when raids on villages wouldn't start because pillager raiders didn't spawn correctly. Snapshot 24w35a fixes this by improving how pillager raiders spawn and reducing the chances of them not finding the right spots to appear.

Also, raids will now only begin if raiders can find a spot to spawn within 96 blocks above or below the village center. This improvement in raider spawning behavior should make raids start more reliably.

3. Armor swapping

Armor Swapping Minecraft

Quick-swapping armor can be handy, but Snapshot 24w34a introduced a troubling bug. In Minecraft Survival Mode, if you right-clicked with an armor piece while wearing one of the same type, the armor would swap while the removed piece would be deleted.

Fortunately, in this Snapshot 24w35a, players no longer have to worry about losing their armor completely when quick-swapping in Java Snapshots.

4. Trader llama aggression

Llama Minecraft

In recent Minecraft snapshots, trader llamas had a strange problem where they would ignore hostile mobs like zombies, husks, drowned, illagers, and zombie villagers. Since trader llamas are supposed to spit at hostile mobs that come too close, this bug was quite frustrating.

Snapshot 24w35a has resolved this long-standing issue. Trader llamas will now properly attack hostile mobs like zombies, husks, drowned, illagers, and zombie villagers when they come near.

5. Snow golem aiming

Snow Golem Aiming Minecraft

In recent Minecraft Java snapshots, snow golems have shown odd behavior due to a bug. When near an enemy, they would shoot their snowballs directly above them or into the ground instead of at the target. This made snow golems much less effective than usual.

Like many other bugs in Snapshot 24w35a, this issue has been fixed. In future snapshots, players should be able to use their snow golems properly for protection against hostile mobs.

Minecraft’s old redstone torch texture has been changed temporarily, leading fans to argue over whether it should become a permanent change.]]>

Minecraft’s old redstone torch texture has received a new design in recent snapshots. And many players are arguing over whether it should become a permanent change.

The redstone torch has been a part of Minecraft since 2010, when the game was still in its alpha version. It’s a key element in redstone creations, from simple piston doors to complex farms. While it doesn’t give off as much light as a regular torch, its main feature is the constant redstone charge it produces. This charge can be turned off, but it requires more effort than using a lever. Despite this, its ability to be turned off remotely is crucial and one of its most important features.

A controversial torch

A new set of snapshots has started on Minecraft Java Edition, with recent updates showcasing various features. While many players are focused on the experimental changes to minecarts, the updated redstone torch is also grabbing attention. The torch’s texture, which used to look like a regular torch with red pixels, has been changed to a bold red cube with a white and red center. Some fans really like the new design, but others are unsure and hesitant to accept it.

New Redstone Torch Design: Pros & Cons

Fans often argue fiercely over changes in Minecraft, as seen a few years ago when the zombified piglin replaced the zombie pigman. While many players agree that the updated netherrack texture is a universally liked change, the new redstone torch also has its share of supporters. In fact, in many areas, those fans are in the majority. Many players appreciate the redstone torch being more distinctly red at its core and like the new cube shape of the flame, which adds extra depth to its appearance.

Minecraft Redstone Torch 2
Many players appreciate the redstone torch being more distinctly red at its core.

On the flip side, some fans are upset about the new texture from the recent Minecraft snapshots. Critics argue that the design doesn’t accurately represent how light behaves, leading to debates and rejections based on redstone’s fantastical nature. The new texture's pinkish light is disliked and liked for various reasons. This disagreement highlights the broader issue of Minecraft’s balance between realism and fantasy. Mojang has removed features like fireflies in an attempt to make the game more realistic, yet Minecraft remains full of fantastical elements that defy logic.

More Significant Changes Should Be Made

The new redstone torch design in Minecraft’s snapshots might be lacking in some aspects. While it’s unlikely to please everyone, adding a feature like producing red light could make the redstone torch a real favorite among players. Colored light isn’t something Minecraft has explored yet, but it could be a game-changing addition. If the redstone torch could emit red light, it would set it apart from other torches and potentially transform the game.

Minecraft Redstone Torch
The new redstone torch design in Minecraft’s snapshots might be lacking in some aspects.

Adding red light to redstone torches might be beyond even Minecraft’s most ambitious updates, as it would likely require a major overhaul of the game’s lighting system. Currently, Minecraft’s lighting mechanics are quite unique and complex. However, it’s a feature that many players have long wanted. Implementing it could turn the new redstone torch from a controversial update into one of the most significant changes in Minecraft’s history.
