The Creaking Heart, a living block, grants players the Monster Hunter and Monsters Hunted advancements, typically reserved for standard zombies and creepers. This unique block essentially functions as a mob, controlling the Creaking. By silk touching the heart and placing it between two upright logs, players can create their own Creaking spawner. When activated at night, a distinctive "awakening" sound plays. Clearly inspired by Weeping Angel mechanics, this living tree monster isn’t a significant threat on its own, but it can quickly become a problem when encountered in larger groups.

The Creaking is essentially invulnerable compared to other recent hostile mobs like the Warden and the Breeze, and it can even trap the Warden in a loop of continuous attacks with no effect. Players can instantly destroy the Creaking once they locate the Creaking Heart that controls it, as currently, one Heart spawns and governs one Creaking. Until players find that Heart, they cannot harm the Creaking. While it doesn’t deal significant damage—only half a heart even against end-game armor—the real danger comes from overwhelming numbers. Its speed also means it can finish off players with low health after they've battled other mobs. Fortunately, as long as players keep the Creaking in their line of sight, it will remain unable to move.

Two days before the live event, some fans started sharing images from the developer after-show footage that clearly displayed the new mob and its features. This was the second leak. Along with these photos, a new block called the creaking heart was also revealed.

During all of this, Mojang used its official social media accounts to share subtle hints and teasers about the mob. However, many dedicated fans were already aware of it by that point.

What is Creaking mob in Minecraft?

The Creaking was completely revealed at the live event and showcased further during the developer after-show. In this part, the mob's creators explored the new biome and the Creaking, providing details about its features.

The Creaking mob is slightly taller than the player’s character, and its texture resembles the tree trunks found in the Pale Garden biome. Its body is covered in dead vines that grow in the biome, helping it blend in with the forest.

A unique feature of the Creaking is that when it spawns in the Pale Gardens at night, it will only move toward a player if that player isn’t watching it. If a player has their eyes on the Creaking, it will remain stationary. This eerie mob isn’t very strong and can only inflict one heart of damage.

Players learned that attacking the Creaking won't cause it to die. They can hit the mob as many times as they want, but it won't take any damage or be defeated, even though it has only half a heart of health. Instead, the Creaking is associated with a new block called the creaking heart, a unique wood log block formed deep within a Pale Garden tree.

To eliminate the Creaking, players must find its heart inside one of the trees in the Pale Garden and break it. Once the heart is destroyed, the mob will simply crumble and perish.

Currently, the Creaking does not drop any experience points or items upon its death. Additionally, the new creaking heart block can only be used to summon the mob at night if it is placed again between 2 pale oak log blocks.

Instead of the big annual updates that Minecraft fans are used to, Mojang has changed its approach to focus on smaller, more frequent content "drops" for the game. Creepers and Baby Zombies are among Minecraft's most dangerous hostile creatures, each presenting unique threats.

The Creeper has been a notorious threat to players since early Minecraft days, silently pursuing them and exploding to destroy anything nearby. Its danger is compounded by the fact that it can spawn at night and isn't affected by daylight.

Baby Zombies also emerge during nighttime in Minecraft and pose a challenge for players. They are extremely fast, difficult to hit because of their small size, and can inflict damage rapidly.

Minecraft's world is filled with dangers, which increased slightly with the Tricky Trails update. Patch 1.21 introduced two new hostile mobs: the Bogged and the Breeze. The Bogged is a variant of the Skeleton found in swamp biomes, shooting poisoned arrows. On the other hand, the Breeze resembles the Blaze and appears in Trial Chambers, attacking players from afar and dropping items used to craft the new Wind Charge item.

From May 15 to 29, Minecraft players can enjoy free daily items, each celebrating a different year of the game's history. Additionally, they can claim a special TikTok-themed cape until June 18 and earn another exclusive cape by watching 15 minutes of Minecraft content on Twitch. Players who subscribe or gift a subscription to a Minecraft streamer on Twitch will receive a special mask. The 15th-anniversary festivities also include another free download for Minecraft players.

As part of Minecraft's 15th anniversary celebrations, a new free map has been released. Created by Oreville Studios, the "15 Year Journey" map is available for download at no cost from the Marketplace, exclusive to Bedrock Edition players. This in-game "museum" allows players to explore exhibits highlighting notable moments from Minecraft's history and participate in minigames, including a Nether-themed platform challenge and an Ender-inspired Elytra race. Additionally, players can engage in a puzzle-based challenge to unlock the alpha version of Minecraft.

Previously, the developers released another free Minecraft map created by the community's mapmakers to celebrate Minecraft Realms' 10th anniversary. Additionally, Bedrock Edition players can now claim a new free avatar item in the Dressing Room: a pair of Toe Guardians slippers. These slippers, inspired by the aquatic mobs from update 1.8 that guard the ocean monuments, are available to equip on their characters.

Although Minecraft predominantly appeals to a younger audience, its allure extends beyond age barriers, captivating players of all generations, including loyal fans who have been there since the beginning. As the 15th-anniversary celebrations of Minecraft draw to a close, anticipation mounts within the community for the highly awaited major update, Tricky Trials, slated for mid-2024. Excitement builds even further amidst speculation surrounding Minecraft's potential launch on Steam, hinting at an opportunity to introduce the cherished game to an even broader audience.

Last year, Mojang Studios rolled out several DLCs for their Minecraft game, featuring content from popular franchises like Dungeons and Dragons, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Jurassic World. The game's collaboration list extends further, with DLCs inspired by Minions, Mega Man X, Star Wars, Sonic the Hedgehog, Godzilla, and now the famous DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda franchise. This collaboration is part of Minecraft's tradition of partnering with celebrated pop culture brands, in and out of the gaming industry.

To get the fresh Kung Fu Panda DLC, you need 1500 Minecoins (approximately $8). This DLC invites players to join an adventure map and undergo training alongside beloved characters like Po, Master Shifu, the Furious Five, and Zhen. Players will scale the stairs of the Jade Palace, participate in the time-honored dumpling-eating ceremony in Panda Village, and engage in cooperative action and combat sequences inspired by the movies. Not only that, you may encounter various iconic characters in Minecraft's signature style.

In the newly introduced DLC, fans will embark on a quest to return ancient artifacts to the Hall of Warriors on the map. Yet, the journey is fraught with challenges, as you must contend with tough foes like Tai Lung, Lord Shen, and General Kai. Along with Po and his allies, you will navigate through well-known pixelated locations from the series, like Mr. Ping's Noodle Shop, Chameleon's Lair, Panda Village, Peach Tree, and the Spirit Realm. In addition, you can claim a complimentary cosmetic item from the Dressing Room and don the Dragon Warrior's Hat during their adventure.

Overall, the inclusion of the Kung Fu Panda DLC enriches Minecraft's extensive collection of official content, arriving at a perfect moment for Po and his companions. We eagerly anticipate more DLCs from Mojang in the future.

Minecraft, a beloved game title for the past 15 years, will NOT work for players who are still using the 32-bit version on Windows, as Mojang has stated in the 24w14a snapshot. This means that if you're playing on this old Windows version, you won't be able to play unless you update to Windows 64-bit. As of now, it hasn't been mentioned whether the same thing will happen on other platforms.

In the tech world, it's common for old models and systems to become outdated over time. This means software like programs, apps, or video games may not work on those older versions. But the good news is, this problem is usually fixed pretty quickly. Most computers today use the 64-bit standard, so updating to that will solve the issue.

Minecraft: Present & Future

Minecraft is currently the best-selling video game ever, selling over 300M copies. This far exceeds the second-best, GTA V, which has sold 190M units. What's remarkable is that Minecraft has achieved this without needing big changes over the years. It has set the standards for many survival games we see today, not by inventing those mechanics, but by making them widely popular.

In light of this, Mojang understands that if something works well, there's no need to change it too much. Despite facing strong competition from similar games, Minecraft continues to hold a dominant position and remains incredibly favored. Its audience, although sometimes critical of its slow update process, remains dedicated to a game that has left a lasting impact on the video game industry.

Great news for Minecraft fans: Their beloved survival game is finally set to arrive with a native PS5 version! A recent post on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours by a user named "the_andshrew" provided evidence of Minecraft's PS5 version release. This seems to be the result of Microsoft obtaining some PS5 development kits. Furthermore, further investigation led to the discovery of title IDs for a PS5 version of the game.

PlayStation Game Size, a trusted X account, also confirmed this information.

Although PS5 fans can currently play Minecraft on PS4 through backward compatibility, the version is already outdated. Since receiving a 4K support update towards the end of last year, players have been eagerly anticipating a similar treatment with a dedicated PS5 port.

Other changes that many Minecraft players want are adding ray tracing and a 120fps mode… but not both together. Unless Microsoft got a special dev kit for a better version of the PS5… maybe a PS5 Pro model?

It's interesting to point out that Minecraft consistently ranks among the top 10 most-played PS games on the PlayStation Chart. So, it's somewhat surprising that it has taken this long for a native PS5 version to be released. Whether it's because Microsoft was waiting for a dev kit or saving up for the inevitable mid-gen refresh, we can just guess.

Another consideration is whether the new PS5 trophies will unlock automatically for players who already earned the PS4 version. This has occurred with many games in the past, so if it happens with Minecraft, it will offer returning fans an easy platinum trophy, which is always a welcome bonus. However, as of now, we cannot confirm whether these trophies will auto-unlock for returning players.

As many of us know, Horse Armor has been a standard part of the armor system for a while, so players hope that the accessibility of Wolf Armor will also be extended to Horse Armor in a future update.

Fans Expect Wolf Armor to Inspire a Future Horse Armor Update

Since its launch in 2013, Horse has been playing an important role in Minecraft. It provides

extra protection for the game's horse mobs, which is essential for horses with high speed but lower health. Interestingly, most variants of Horse Armor can only be found as loot while exploring, with only leather Horse Armor obtainable through crafting or trading with villagers. This has made getting Horse Armor needlessly challenging, leading many players to wonder why higher-tier Horse Armor remains uncraftable.

Horse Armor has stayed unchanged for over a decade. Despite not being directly related, the recent addition of Wolf Armor to Minecraft suggests that Mojang is open to expanding on this type of item. Wolf Armor serves a similar purpose to Horse Armor, providing extra protection to wolves, but it's easier to obtain and simpler compared to Horse Armor.

How about Updating Horse Armor to Wolf Armor?

Wolf Armor only has a variant, and players can make it by crafting with a new item called Scute that they get from Armadillos. Unlike most Horse Armor, which you can only find randomly, making Wolf Armor depends on finding Armadillos. As Wolf Armor is now in the game, it's probably a good idea for Mojang to update Horse Armor to make them more identical.

To make things easier, all types of Horse Armor could be made by players just like Wolf Armor. This means players wouldn't have to search for Horse Armor while exploring. It could also be a chance to make Armadillos and Scute more useful. Maybe players would need Scute and another item to craft different types of Horse Armor.

All in all, recent additions like Wolf Armor show that some Minecraft features are outdated. Making Horse Armor craftable in all types would bring it up to date and give players more control.

Minecraft has recently released Snapshot 24w11a for Java Edition and 1.20.80.22 for Bedrock Edition, introducing the new Mace weapon. These updates enhance the Minecraft experience by adding new content and fixing in-game issues. Prior to these releases, Mojang Studios typically provides snapshots for players to test features and provide feedback before implementing them into the game.

Last year, Mojang introduced a new command in Minecraft Snapshot 23w51b, enabling players to adjust the size of spiders, making them even scarier. This year, Snapshot 24w06a brought the Wind Charge, a fun new item to players who enjoy parkour in the game. Adding to the challenge of Minecraft's world, subsequent snapshots presented the hostile mobs Breeze and Bogged, as well as a variant of Skeleton. Now, Minecraft offers another snapshot with exciting features, tweaks, and improvements.

Speaking of the new weapon Mace, when equipping it, you can smash the enemies using a unique mechanic where jumping down toward an enemy and hitting them effectively negates any damage from the fall. Moreover, if there are other mobs nearby, they will be knocked back by the force of the new weapon. Using a Mace will wear down its durability just like any other Minecraft weapon; you can repair it by using Breeze Rods at an anvil.

With the Mace now added, it becomes one of the melee weapons in Minecraft, alongside tridents and swords. It's anticipated that the Mace will be part of update 1.21, the next big release for Minecraft, which adds to the excitement for its arrival.

Snapshot 24w11a and Preview 1.20.80.22 bring out additional content, including the Heavy Core and the Breeze Rod. These two new items can be combined to create the new weapon Mace. 

Last but not least, new banner patterns, armor trim templates, and two new Trial Chambers are included, too. Changes have been made to their Vaults, adjusting the loot table to address players' inventory management issues. Further, minor adjustments have been made to Minecraft's new wolf variants. The Rusty Wolf now spawns in all jungle biomes, the Striped Wolf in all Badlands biomes, and the Spotted Wolf in all savannahs.
