This free trial of Mortal Kombat 11 has launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One since yesterday (sorry about the late update), and it will stay in the stores until Sunday, October 13 ends. This will give fans a great chance to have a look and feel the game before buying the full version.

And even though it's a limited version, this trial still offers a great deal of features. To be more specific, players will be able to experience the first two chapters of Story mode. Alongside that, every multiplayer play modes will be available to play, such as The Krypt and Fatality Training modes.

Mortal Kombat's free trial will include all base roster characters. This means you can have almost endless fun fighting with your favorite characters through this trial. Additionally, the developer NetherRealm Studios and the publisher Warner Bros. is generously bringing a DLC to this version as well. We all known Mortal Kombat 11 for all of those controversial slick combos and brutal finishes. Sometimes the fights are so spectacular that just make us forgot about the surroundings and the background of the stages in Mortal Kombat 11. Therefore, thanks to a recent pretty cool camera angle mod we have the chance to admire the stage designs of this amazing game like never before.

In fact, it was Eurogamer who spotted a series of videos on YouTube of the YouTuber with the name - Dennis Network. These videos show some stages in the game where you could explore freely using the camera mod. However, they haven't released this mod to the public yet.

When will it be available?

According to the descriptions of those videos from DennisNetwork, you might have to wait for a little bit more before you could take on all those tours “The mod is not ready to be released to the public because I still have some kinks to work out. Please be patient and enjoy the video”.

However, this mod is really fascinating because you can see all these hidden pieces and details of the game which you could miss if you only focus on performing amazing combo or throwing razor sharp at your opponent's face.

Although the heat of this phrase was reduced, Baraka still uses this iconic salute in the eleventh game in the Mortal Kombat series.

In the Towers of Time, Player of the game can open the cinematic “Tarkata Forever” after finishing the third tower of Baraka. “Tarkata Forever” cinematic shows Baraka crossing his arms following his victory, which is similar to Black Panther’s “Wakanda Forever.” Although some people consider this iconic salute as an old meme that is “dead,” it appears that it will regain the heat right after Black Panther comes back to the big screen with his second solo film.

But for Shang Tsung, there is no DLC character confirmed in the eleventh Mortal Kombat. So everyone is still holding their breath to see if any other Marvel Easter eggs are hidden in upcoming DLC characters’ selection. In Mortal Kombat 11, his combos are short and simple and mostly aim for the high and middle area in swift succession. He has Shadow kick as an effective gap-closing. After a few games, you will be able to get used to his moves and buttons to put up a good show.

4. Ruler of Outworld, Shao Kahn

There is the reason why this character isn't free, and he will be your best investment in the entire game. If you fought against Kahn before, you would know how annoying he was. He is quite fast for his size and has a series of ranged attacks for gap-closing like releasing his spear or even leaping forward with a downward hammer strike. Kahn is known for his brutal strength and does tons of damage with short combos. Most people overlook Boov Saibot, Sub-Zero dead older brother. Mortal Kombat keeps the old double team mechanic of Noob. But this time, he teams up with his own shadow. Noob also has a fast, plain and simple combo, but what makes him scary is his special abilities. He can project his shadow to attack for him several times which might remind you of Zed in League of Legend. His gap-closing skill can combos with numerous attacks and his combos are easy to grasp. His skill works best in close distance, he is a safe option if you want to try to be a little bit aggressive.

2. Vengeance Incarnate, Scorpion

Scorpion is one of the oldest characters that have attached to the franchise over the years. Scorpion is built to be noob-friendly with easy combos, medium damage output, simple special attacks, and varied skills. He can fight from any range but work best in close range. His combos and attacks are short and the easiest to learn and master. You should always look into this character if you want to have some fun while learning the game and master the character over time.

1. The Chosen One, Liu Kang

Liu Kang is also one of the most popular figures in the Mortal Kombat series. In Mortal Kombat 11, he has the most basic combos and attacks and lots of his special attacks require the same series of buttons (away, towards, face button). In addition, he is given a nunchuck at the start of the fight, even a kid can smash the buttons and win a fight. Most of his attacks can be used by multiple presses of the same button which is why he is extremely easy for new players while being fearsome in the hand of a competent player.

Players of the latest game of the franchise Mortal Kombat 11 are complaining about how much grinding they have to do in order to get all of its skin collection. But according to a Redditor, if you want to pay for all of it without grinding, the cost will not be comfortable.

The complaints come after many reviewers have praised the game as the best one in the series. In fact, you have to accomplish a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 requirements before completely owned the collection.

The issue is discussed in a Reddit post, in which the OP stated that if you don't want to grind to get all the skins, the amount of money you have to pay for them is $6,440, not to mention you need "perfect luck" and need to check the store every 6-8 hours when it is reset.

The game features 60 skins for its characters, and while 4 of them can be unlocked fairly easy, the rest of them are only offered through pop-ups for $5 each.

Responding to the calculation, Ed Boon, one of the franchise's creator, says that it is BS since that's not how the game works and you have to earn them via grinding. Most of them are not for sale also.

The huge amount of money that was given out ignored all the stats requirements such as fatalities that you need to get before having the skins.

After Boon's backlash, the original post was deleted on Reddit. But the problem remains as many still complain about how hard and unreasonable it is to complete all the grinding. Keep in mind that they are after all just cosmetics and you don't necessarily have to get them.

Yet, the complaints seem to work since Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm said while streaming that they are fixing the game. The official date for the changes wasn't stated, so we will have to wait.

Mortal Kombat 11 has a variety of modes like the Krypt and Towers of Time. These modes usually give out rewards such as skins for character. Then you could use these drops to exchange for the currencies that you get by playing the game or by complete various challenges.

The first offerings

From our current sources, we know that the game will allow us to buy the skins and maybe circumvent those grinds. But still, we don't know what will it be like. The shop is already LIVE for Mortal Kombat 11. These are the first offerings:

Like the picture, you could buy of up to 5 cosmetic items in the shops: like in the picture - one intro, one taunt, and one decal of "Kombat Kard". There also exists a timer to show that they rotate the items out every day or so. However, the level of randomness of this rotation is still unknown.

Each item in the game will have the information section that tells you the alternative to earn it in the game. We have some examples such as the Towers of Time reward, the Krypt's unlockable, and those items we get from battling the A.I. One more question at stake here: We haven't seen any skins from Towers of Time. Is that a coincidence or those skins will not be available?

On the other hand, you can buy Easy Fatality Tokens but not experience boosters nor  Skip Fight Tokens. In fact, you can get for the exchange rate of 100 for 1,000, 40 for 500 or 5 tokens for 100 Krystals.

Mixed opinions about this Monetization

In general, I am not sure what to think about this new aspect of the game. I do like the option to skip the difficult challenges in Towers of Time and get the skin. But I don't need to do it to save time - I do that because they are just too frustratingly difficult. And the game shouldn't be too difficult that I need to spend money on it. And the rotation system also makes me frustrated because I just couldn't purchase any skin that I want.

There is also the question of pricing. What is the price for the Time Krystals? The game's PlayStation Store is not LIVE yet so we will have to wait and see.

This week is undoubtedly going to be a gory one for PC and consoles with the release of Mortal Kombat 11 and the PS4 exclusive Days Gone. Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, balances it out with some cheerier exclusives of its own including SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech and BoxBoy + Box Girl. Also, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is also coming to the platform.

As the title suggests, BoxBoy + BoxGirl is a cooperative take on the BoxBoy franchise, featuring both Qbby and Qucy as the main characters.
