Zenless Zone Zero, that urban fantasy action RPG from HoYoverse, is hitting Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming with some cool tweaks and cross-save support.

New Xbox Release for Zenless Zone Zero

SINGAPORE, April 12, 2025 - HoYoverse just spilled the beans: Zenless Zone Zero is coming to Xbox Series X|S in June 2025, right when the Version 2.0 update drops. It’ll also be on Xbox Cloud Gaming, so if you’ve got Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can play it on different devices without downloading anything.

The Xbox version’s been spruced up to make the most of the console’s power. You’ll get sharper visuals with stuff like DirectX RayTracing and HDR, plus 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X|S. It’ll also use Xbox’s Quick Resume feature, letting you hop between games without long loading screens.

On top of that, they’ve tweaked things for controllers, adding custom vibration feedback to make fights feel more intense. You’ll also get cross-progression, so your progress carries over to other platforms, and you can pick whatever server works best.

HoYoverse says this Xbox launch means more folks can jump into the game’s mix of city vibes and fast-paced combat.

About Version 2.0 update

The Version 2.0 update, launching with the Xbox release, adds a new spot called Waifei Peninsula. It blends city areas with Hollow exploration for a story that feels more connected and pulls you in.

Zenless Zone Zero first came out in July 2024 and is already on PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. It’s got an ESRB Teen rating and PEGI 12 classification.

SINGAPORE, April 11, 2025 - HoYoverse is dropping Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.7, called "Bury Your Tears with the Past," on April 23. This update finishes the Season 1 storyline and finally explains what’s been going on with the Sacrifice crisis.

Story

You’ll dig into Vivian’s backstory and figure out what happened to Hugo after he vanished into the Hollow. The plot heats up with some drama between Mockingbird and TOPS, and you’ll team up with a special investigator from the Mayor’s office to tackle new dangers.

New Agents

Two new S-Rank Agents join the crew. Vivian, an Ether Anomaly type, fights with a parasol and rapier, switching between ground and air attacks. Her Featherbloom move boosts Anomaly damage and pairs with teammates’ EX Special Attacks to ramp up Corruption damage. Hugo, an Ice Attack type, swings a suitcase that turns into a scythe for big slashes and crowd-clearing hits. When he attacks stunned enemies, he gets a Totalize boost that makes him hit harder based on how much stun time’s left. Plus, there’s a new Bangboo named Robin, who throws out random card-based attacks with different effects.

The update also brings back Jane (Physical Anomaly) and Lighter (Fire Stun) in special banners.

Events

Outside of fighting, there’s new stuff to do. The "Say It With Flowers" event puts you in charge of a flower shop where you make arrangements for customers. Finish tasks, and you’ll unlock a permanent flower-design mode in Quality Time, plus grab rewards like the A-Rank Bangboo Overtimeboo.

Bangboo Bash is back too, now with a ranked mode. You can race through obstacle courses or survival challenges to rack up points. Do well, and you’ll score exclusive titles, Polychromes, and other goodies.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.7 hits PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android on April 23. It’s rated ESRB Teen and PEGI 12.
