Turkish team secures championship with 106-point performance after narrowly missing title last year, while amateur teams make impressive showing at Uzbekistan tournament.]]>

LONDON, April 13, 2025 - Regnum Carya Esports has won the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) championship at the Zo'r TV venue in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Turkish team claimed the title with 106 points across 12 matches, securing their first international championship in PUBG MOBILE Esports.

The victory represents a triumphant comeback for the team after their narrow one-point defeat at the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) last December. Team member Sylas achieved a personal milestone by winning his second global championship title, having previously won the 2022 PMGC with another team.

As champions, Regnum Carya Esports claims the largest share of the $500,000 prize pool and earns an additional qualifying slot for their region at the upcoming 2025 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC), which will be part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.

The Grand Finals featured a mix of professional and amateur teams competing across two days. Amateur team R8 Esports opened day one with a Chicken Dinner victory and 12 eliminations. Nigma Galaxy responded in Match 2 with a win powered by star player Raouf's six eliminations. Another amateur team, GOAT Quality, surprised spectators with two podium finishes that positioned them in third place by day's end. Regnum Carya Esports led the first day with two Chicken Dinners and an 11-point advantage.

Day two brought challenges for Regnum Carya Esports, who struggled early and failed to secure additional wins despite earning elimination points. GOAT Quality and Uzbekistan team THE721 AGGRESSOR mounted serious challenges. Both Regnum Carya Esports and GOAT Quality passed the 80-point SMASH tournament threshold during the final matches.

The final game saw Regnum Carya Esports eliminated early by 4Merical Vibes. GOAT Quality maintained strong positioning until encountering Nepali amateur team NEPX Esports in a fierce battle that ended their championship hopes. THE721 AGGRESSOR won the final match, but Regnum Carya Esports had accumulated enough points to secure the overall championship. Player DOK from 4Merical Vibes earned MVP recognition with 19 eliminations, 17 knocks, and nine assists.

James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite, stated: "What an amazing way to start the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Esports circuit. I'd like to thank all the players who signed up for the Open Qualifiers and took their first step toward becoming pros. Ahead of us is an exciting year for PUBG MOBILE Esports."

The tournament marked the first international PUBG MOBILE Esports event in Uzbekistan, representing a milestone for esports in Central Asia. Over 90,000 amateur players registered to compete, with eight teams advancing to face professionals in the Grand Finals. Several amateur teams delivered impressive performances that may shape the future competitive landscape of PUBG MOBILE.

The winner of the PMGC 2021 will get the lion's share of the 6 million USD prize pool and the title of PUBG Mobile World Champion.]]>

With the ending of the PUBG Mobile World Invitational yesterday, James Yang, Director of PUBG Mobile Esports, has revealed PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021. PMGC is going to be the biggest and the last PUBG Mobile esports tournament this year. In this article, we are going to list out everything you need to know about PMGC.

Pmgc 2021
The biggest tournament of 2021 is finally here.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Format

PUBG Mobile held a world tournament every year, and 2021 is not an exception. In PMGC 2021, teams all over the world will compete for the title of World Champion. While there's no announcement regarding how Indian teams will earn their tickets for PMGC 2021, there is more than enough time for them to do that, as BGMI is pretty much identical to PUBG. It'd be much more exciting to see India's top teams perform in Global events.

Similar to PMGC season zero, the tournament will be held in 2 stages: League and Finals. The League play will be held in November and last until December 2021. The Finals will be held on January 2022.

PUBG Mobile
PMGC 2021 schedule - the finals will not actually be played in 2021.

Best teams for all PUBG Mobile Pro League all over the world will participate directly, based on the total points on 2 seasons. This will include both league points and final points. Furthermore, PMPL Regional Championships such as PMPL EMEA and PMPL SEA will serve as a qualifier for PMGC.

BGMI needs to hold tournaments ASAP if they want Indian candidates to participate on the world stage. Teams that didn't participate in PMPL can still get a ticket through Regional Championship. Detailed information of teams and the number of slots will be announced later.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Prize Pool

PUBG Mobile Global Championship will have a massive prize pool of $6,000,000 USD. This is the biggest ever prize pool in Mobile Esports History, tripled that of the PMGC Season Zero. This is a larger prize pool than all PUBG Mobile tournaments in 2020 combined (5 million dollars).

PMCO Fall Split 2021 is also coming very soon, with a total prize pool of 2 million USD. It is very likely that India will also have its own version of this tournament.

It hasn’t been confirmed if the upcoming PMGC will be a live event. Apparently, Tencent is trying hard to hold the PMGC 2021 as an offline event, but there was too much uncertainty due to the pandemic to guarantee anything at this point.

They will likely be a lot more careful this year after several players tested positive for COVID-19 during the 2020 finals of the PMGC. It was initially supposed to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates from Jan. 21 to 24, 2021. Just a day before it was supposed to begin, 3 players tested positive... and they have to play from their hotel rooms afterward.

Instead of getting qualified, there are teams who used money to buy slots in Tier 1 PUBG Mobile tournaments/scrims.]]>

While PUBG Mobile is still banned in India, it seems that organizer has found a new way to make money, by selling tournaments slots. Ujwal "inyodream" Chaudhari is an ex-Fnatic player, who is now playing for Oldskool.gg has revealed in an Instagram post that there are teams and players who pay their way to be in Tier 1 tournaments and scrims.

PUBG Mobile Pro Player Inyodream reveals on his Instagram that teams are buying slots in Tier 1 tournaments

According to him, organizers demands teams to pay from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 to get a slot in their tournament. This offer is mostly for newly found teams who want to play against the best teams such as TSM, Fnatic in Tier tournaments/ scrims. There are tier 1 teams who can play better but didn't get invited because of those pay-to-play teams.

PUBG Mobile Pro Player Inyodream reveals on his Instagram that teams are buying slots in Tier 1 tournaments

Moreover, inyodream also claims that top teams such as Fnatic, TSM, GodLike, and Xspark clearly know about this but still decide to play tournaments with those teams and "don't want to talk about it". And to answer to people who say that teams need exposure, inyodream says that if that is the case then the chance should be available for every team each day instead to make it fair.

PUBG Mobile has been banned in India for more than4 months already with almost no sign of returning. Many teams are still trying to hold on and play behind the curtain. But it is hard to maintain an esports scene without tournaments, sponsor hip, and deals. The PUBG Mobile esports scene in India is slowly dying and something need to be done as soon as possible.

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship Finals 2020 Season Zero was planned to be held at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai. However, in the latest announcement, PUBG Mobile says that the tournament will be held online instead because 3 players tested positive for COVID-19.

All 3 players are in good health condition with no symptoms at all. They are currently under self-quarantine. People who have close contact with them are in quarantine as well. All of them are getting medical examinations every day and they will receive full support from PUBG Mobile, including medical assistance from health facilities.

The initial plan was to let all the teams play together inside the Coca-Cola Arena without audiences. But now, in order to keep everyone safe, players will play the tournament in isolation through the internet at their own place. While online is not the best format for a championship tournament, it shouldn't affect the tournament too much because all players are already in Dubai.

The schedule for the tournament will be the same starting at 4:40 PM IST, January 21, 2021 until January 24. On the 2nd day of the tournament, PUBG Mobile is going to announce a new map for PUBG Mobile, which is suspected to be Karakin, a small 2x2 desert map from the PUBG PC version.

MortaL was one of the most popular PUBG Mobile pro player and streamer, but 2020 has been a tough year for everyone.]]>

Naman Mathur or better known as MortaL is one of the most beloved and recognized esports players in India. He has represented India multiple times in an international PUBG Mobile tournament. 2020 has been a rough year for everyone and MortaL was no exception. The COVID-19 pandemic and the PUBG Mobile ban in India has caused him to rethink his plan for the future.

Mortal Naman Mathur
Naman Mathur or better known as MortaL is one of the most beloved and recognized esports players in India

Since the PUBG Mobile ban in India in September, MortaL has been spending most of his time to create new content to enter his fans on YouTube. He tried all kinds of games from Fall Guy, Among Us to different battle royale games such as Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile. MortaL ended the year 2020 being at third place in the ‘Mobile Player of the Year 2020’ category at the E-sports Awards 2020.

What did MortaL learn from 2020?

Mortal feels happy that he and his team can still keep their consistency even though the pandemic and the PUBG Mobile ban happened. As MortaLis a full-time streamer now, he has to find different games to play other than PUBG Mobile. Even though his viewership went down, there are still old viewers who are ready to stay with him no matter what he plays.

How does MortaL feel about his situation now vs back then?

MortaL thinks he was more active when there was a tournament. There was a lot of practicing and competing with many great moments and stress also. When streaming and discovering new games, he feels very stress-free. When PUBG Mobile is back in India, MortaL will mostly take care of his team instead of competing. He will be more of a fifth or sixth player, a mentor for the team.

What challenges do MortaL face while streaming?

MortaL thinks that in streaming, everyone is doing their own things so there is not really a competition. The only problem that he is having is the viewership. Now, it is even hard for MortaL to get 10,00 viewers, unlike before.

How did MortaL feel when he heard of the ban?

The PUBG Mobile ban new spread like wildfire. Mortal contacted Goldy right after to discuss their plan for the future. Before the PUBG Mobile ban, he has never thought of having a backup plan before so he was really concerned. He didn't have any option other than moving on, exploring other games. It was a struggle at first, but then everything turned out alright.

What MortaL thinks about esports being included in the Olympics?

MortaL thinks it is really important for esports to be recognized by conventional sports. There is more than just one game in esports, including mobile games and everyone can now get a medal if they are good enough.

3 teams got banned from PUBG Mobile Pakistan Challenge 2020 Grand Finals for cheating, hacking and unprofessional behaviors.]]>

PUBG Mobile Pakistan Challenge 2020 is currently in the Grand Finals stage with 16 teams qualified. However, a serious issue happened as 3 teams have been disqualified from the tournament because of hacking and cheating. This dropped the total number of teams from 16 teams to 13 teams so they will have to play more matches to make up for it.

3 teams have been disqualified from the tournament because of hacking and cheating

The 3 teams that were banned were Team GOD Speed, Team SINISTER, and Team Gold Diggers for cheating, hacking, and unprofessional behavior.

Team GOD Speed was caught cheating on Day 1 and was banned immediately.

Team Gold Diggers was in the 2nd position on the leader board 129 points with 2 Chicken Dinners before they got banned on DAy 2 because of their unprofessional behavior.

Team SINISTER was in 10th place but one of their member, King, was on the top of the kill leaderboard with 25 kills, 3346 damage. The team was banned on Day 2 of the Grand Finals.

It is sad that things like this happen in such a big PUBG Mobile tournament, and even in the Grand Finals as well. Because of this, the PUBG Mobile Pakistan Challenge 2020 Grand Finals will be delayed until December 29 with 10 matches on the final day.

Currently, team F4 is leading the leader board with 3 Chicken Dinners with 80 points and 76 kills. Team R3GICIDE is in 2nd place now that team Gold Diggers has been banned.

Without Indian teams, the South Asia region has no chance to compete against other regions. This is might also the end for PUBG Mobile esports in India.]]>

After the PUBG Mobile ban at the beginning of September, the fate of the game in India has been in a really uncertain state. Now, more bad news is coming as all Indian teams have been removed from the PMPL Fall Split South Asia. That means even if they CANNOT join the tournament even if they fly to another country.

Day 3 2
Indian teams won't be allowed to join the PMPL Fall Split South Asia even if they move to another country

Recently, Jame Wang, Tencent's Director of PUBG Mobile global esports held a private meeting with all the Indian teams to announce this news. All the invited slots for Indian teams will be refilled by teams from other regions.

So far, there hasn't been any official statement made by PUBG Mobile yet.

The PMPL South Asia Is Not The Same Without Indian teams

There was a total of 17 out 24 slots Indian PUBG Mobile teams in this PMPL South Asia. 12 teams were invited directly including Soul, Fnatic, Orange Rock, TSM Entity, TeamIND, Nova GodLike, Galaxy Racer, and UMumba eSports. 5 teams were qualified from the PMCO India including TeamXSpark, Stalwart Esports, Fintox Esports, FutureStation Esports, and TEAM iNSANE.

F5012 15973361478000 800
There were 12 invited Indian teams in the PMPL Fall Split South Asia

Indian teams have always been dominating the South Asia region ever since the beginning and they were getting better and better against teams from other regions. Orange Rock even went second place in the last PMWL East Season Zero, going toe to toe with big powerhouses such as Bigetron RA, and RRQ Athena.

But now, all of them have been dropped out of the tournament and we won't be able to see if an Indian team can be crowned as the champion or not this time.

Pubg Mobile 2020 Global Championship Banner 1200x6
We won't be able to see Indian teams go against the big guys this time

All the slots for Indian teams in the PMPL South Asia will be replaced with much weaker teams, making the competition less intense and appealing to watch. There is just no chance that the South Asia will have such an impact as it did before in the world stage without Indian teams.

This is might also the last drop for PUBG Mobile organizations in India because they can't keep pouring money in their teams if they are not completing anymore.

If you can find a Flare Gun in a game, you will feel the luckiest man in the world. But this player got 30 Flare Guns and he wasted all of them to shoot a helicopter.]]>

PUBG Mobile players are all too familiar with the Flere Gun in PUBG Mobile already. It is a tool to call in a plane that drops a powerful vehicle or an airdrop when the Flare lands.

Pubg Update 26 Flare Gun F6f2
Flare Gun is one of the best items to obtain in PUBG Mobile

Of course, everybody already knows this, but I bet that none of you have ever even thought about using it for other purposes, such as trying to shot down a helicopter perhap. And that was exactly what this Chinese PUBG Mobile player did. He fired a total of 30 Flare Gun to the sky, not to call a plane, but to shoot down a helicopter.

Since the Flare Gun doesn't deal damage it is obvious that no helicopter was harmed during the process. But the players made a pretty spectacular firework performance with his 30 Flare Guns as you can see in the pictures below.

But the real question is how can he get 30 Flare Guns in a game? We all know there are only a few Flare Guns in a match in PUBG Mobile, not to mention that it is extremely hard to get one. If you get 2 Flare Gun, you would feel like you are the luckiest person in the world already. But 30 Flare Guns? It is literally impossible to do this.

Many people speculated that he used some sort of cheat to get more Flare Gun. But the fact is that it was just a bug caused by the latest update in the PUBG Mobile Chinese version. This player used this bug to duplicate 300 Flare Guns in his backpack. This bug has been reported by many players to Tencent so it will sure fix soon.

As part of yesterday’s announcement of PUBG Mobile’s New Era and version 1.0’s arrival, PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2020 has been revealed. James Yang, PUBG Mobile’s Esports Director, also revealed the expected start date and prize pool of the tournament. Looks like they have found a method to deal with the raging global pandemic, after all. In this article, we would list out everything you need to know about PMGC Season Zero.

1 - How was PMGC Season Zero Created?

Pubg Mobile Global Championshi

With the new format announced at the beginning of 2020, PUBG Mobile's World tier competitions are supposed to be divided into World League and World Championship, with the former serving as a qualifier for the latter. However, with the complications caused by Covid-19, holding events on such a large scale is now impossible. This lead to the merge of the World League and Championship into one event - the previously mentioned Season Zero.

2 - Details about PMGC Season Zero

Pubgmb Pmgc 2 1024x496

It is not possible to have an event with a large on-site audience anymore - PMGC Season Zero would be held in multiple studios all over the world, based on the health situation. It would feature teams from every region in the world, including India, North America, China and SEA. The exact start date is not here yet - but it is likely to kick off in late November.

PMGC Season Zero would have an unprecedented prize pool of two million dollars - the highest ever for any mobile-based esports.

3 - About PUBG Mobile Esports this year

Untitled

Prior to this reveal, Yang provided various insights into PUBG Mobile Esports' ecosystem. The numbers for PUBG Mobile is indeed formidable, with a whopping 120k registration for PMCO this year, divided into 16 regions consist of over 150 countries. The recent Pro League has over 28 million watched hours - and the next tier World League almost doubled that, at 40 million. Peak concurrent viewers have surpassed 1.1 million - almost as good as any popular esports in the world.

Overall, PUBG Mobile has a bright future ahead. Interested in more of our articles related to PUBG Mobile? Please check out this post to find out more about the various new changes in the New Era update.

Looks like the anti-cheat system of PUBG Mobile is not infallible - some hackers have managed to get past it in PMCO 2020 Fall Split.]]>

PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) Fall Split, the biggest amateur level tournament of PUBG Mobile, has started in both India and Pakistan on August 12th. 32 teams would battle against each other in each Club to get the ticket for the Semi-Finals.

About PMCO

This year’s PMCO is even bigger than last year, with a prize pool of one million dollars - and over eighty thousand teams have registered. With a massive prize and a lot of competitors in the pool, the fact that people might use hacks and cheats to accomplish their goal is pretty much a given. While PUBG Mobile’s anti-cheat can root out the majority of cheaters, it is not infallible. With this year’s PMCO being online only, it is pretty hard to verify if the players are hacking or not.

Caef7 15970618960538 800

Multiple accusations of hacking have sprouted up everywhere in the Fall edition of PMCO - and because of this, PMCO India, PMCO Pakistan and PMCO South Asia have been postponed. Officials stated that some qualified teams show suspicious behaviors. 4 teams from PMCO Pakistan has received permanent bans. Out of ~80k teams, 512 were automatically banned by the system as well.

Reports of Hacking in PMCO India and PMCO Pakistan

Captain of TSM Entity, Ghatak has uploaded an Instagram story a few days ago to ask PMCO officials to look into the serious matter - the guy also requested his fans to spread the words around on social media so that it could reach more people.

32001 Postponing Announcement
PMCO's Postponing announcement

Their efforts have yield results, as PMCO officials have immediately postponed the tournament to look into the matter. It would remain frozen until the investigation is done and “tournament integrity is ensured”. Satisfied with the decision, Ghatak posted an appreciation message to the team afterward.

In PMCO Pakistan, hacking was detected in the middle of the stream - with the whole event stopped midway so that the officials could investigate the issue. Afterward, Team Xtreme, 47 esports, Team Ecstasyyy and Team Hellfire were disqualified and permanently banned from PUBG Mobile.

It is likely that there is a new cheating loophole in PUBG Mobile - one that's not detected by the system. Gurugamer would update about this topic in later posts.
