The GTA 3's iconic blowing litter on the streets wasn’t carried over to future games, as the streets in GTA: San Andreas are much cleaner.]]>

Grand Theft Auto games have always shown off great technology and are really fun to play. GTA 6 will be amazing when it comes out next Fall. If you remember GTA 3 from 2001, you'll see how Rockstar added little details about how to use the technology of that time.

Gta 3 Blowing Litter

One small detail in GTA 3 was the litter on the streets. While it might seem simple, the litter was special because it blew in the wind and moved when cars drove by. This kind of attention to detail is typical of Rockstar’s games, showing off their technology. Surprisingly, this feature wasn’t carried over to future games, as the streets in GTA: San Andreas are much cleaner.

There’s a good reason for this, and it’s not just that there are fewer litterbugs in San Andreas compared to Liberty City. Former Rockstar developer Obbe Vermeij has been sharing development secrets about the series recently. He’s explained why GTA 3 didn’t have working planes, why planes kept crashing around CJ in San Andreas, and how the gloomy mood of GTA 4 made him decide to leave the studio.

In a recent tweet, Obbe Vermeij revealed that he wanted to include GTA 3’s moving litter in San Andreas. However, not everyone on the team liked the idea. He didn’t go into much detail about the objections, but he did mention that a major concern was potential rendering problems. The litter used "immediate mode polygons," which could be slow to render.

Vermeij says he ended up "losing the argument" and had to take out the litter from San Andreas. But he found a way to sneak it into Manhunt, Rockstar's famous stealth game from 2003. Since some of the GTA team members were reassigned to Manhunt during its last few months of development, Vermeij used that chance to add the litter code. That's a sneaky trick worth admiring!

Over the years, GTA fans have discovered numerous references inside the game. Here are the 7 most infamous references in the Definitive Edition.]]>

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, which comprises three classic 3D Universe games with enhanced graphics, is replete with Easter eggs, just like the other Grand Theft Auto games. Despite being familiar to seasoned players, new players may not be aware of their presence in the game. Even so, merely knowing about them may not be enough since Rockstar Games is adept at concealing them in inconspicuous places. To assist players in discovering them, this article highlights 7 Easter eggs from each of the three games included in the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

1. Frankie Outfit

In GTA Vice City Definitive Edition, the Frankie Outfit is a relatively unknown Easter egg. This is a personalized t-shirt that players can obtain by completing the game in its entirety, including all story missions, side quests, collectibles, and random events. Once it is unlocked, the outfit will be available at the Vercetti Estate mansion.

The t-shirt is white and has black borders on the neck and sleeves, and players can recognize it by the text embroidered on it, which reads, “I completed Vice City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.” Although finishing the game's main story is not difficult for many players, achieving a 100% completion rate remains a challenge for several players.

2. Changing moon size

One of the most well-known Easter eggs from the 3D Universe GTA games, which is no longer available in the HD Universe, involves shooting the moon to reveal a hidden surprise. Nevertheless, players of Grand Theft Auto 3 Definitive Edition can still experience this feature. When the moon is shot with a suitable weapon, Rockstar Games programmed it to alter its size.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Moon Easter Egg

In GTA 3, players can use a sniper rifle to shoot the moon and make it grow to a certain extent with each shot before returning to its smallest size. However, players must be cautious of their surroundings because doing so can alert the police.

3. Moon Landing Scene

In the early 2000s, a popular conspiracy theory was that the Apollo 11 moon landing was a fabrication and had been staged. Rockstar Games included a humorous reference to this theory in Vice City Definitive Edition by creating a fake moon landing scene inside a movie studio.

Moon Landing Scene

To uncover this Easter egg in GTA, players must locate the "B Stage" recording room at InterGlobal Studios, where they can find a set containing a lunar landing vehicle adorned with the American flag. To enhance the authenticity, the walls are painted with space-themed designs.

4. Celebrity NPCs

In San Andreas Definitive Edition, Rockstar Games employed a crafty tactic by introducing a few non-playable characters (NPCs) that resemble famous personalities. These NPCs spawn only in a specific location.

Celebrity NPCs

Once you have unlocked the Las Venturas map and traveled to the city, you can observe several celebrity-like NPCs wandering the streets. Tupac Shakur, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, LL Cool J, and various other well-known individuals are included as Easter eggs in San Andreas Definitive Edition. They stand out easily due to their unique appearance and clothing.

5. Umbrella Corporation

San Fierro's Zombotech Corporation is a mysterious site in GTA that features various concealed connotations and allusions. Despite this, the building itself is a massive Easter egg that most players are incapable of recognizing, as it pays homage to the Umbrella Corporation from the Resident Evil franchise.

Umbrella Corporation

If players visit the site in GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition, they will discover a sign that says "Sinister Zombie Virus Research Corporation," as well as elevator directions to the Zombie Lab and several other undisclosed references. Furthermore, Rockstar incorporated a mission centered around the area to ensure that players did not overlook this Easter egg.

6. Pokemon and SpongeBob SquarePants

GTA San Andreas contains references to popular cartoons and anime, as Rockstar Games incorporated them into the game. For instance, a store named Juguetes Regalos in East Beach, Los Santos, displays a banner with distorted images of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu, two well-known characters from the Pokemon series.

Maxresdefault
Pokemon and SpongeBob SquarePants

Additionally, advertisements featuring SpongeBob SquarePants can be seen in the same area. It's worth noting that San Andreas was set in 1992, despite being released in 2004. Therefore, the presence of characters and references from series that did not exist at that time is an unusual Easter egg regarding the game's plot.

Although some GTA players speculate that this may be a developer oversight, others believe it was intentional because Los Angeles has numerous stores that feature similar displays in real life.

7. RIP Opposition Memorial

Rockstar Games incorporated an Easter egg in San Fierro that takes a dig at their competitors who emerged in the market around the same time as them. 72 graves with the label "RIP Opposition 1997-2004" are placed in the city, indicating Rockstar's victory over other game developers and the domination of the GTA franchise in the gaming industry. The Easter egg has no direct correlation to any particular notion and is included as a reference to the company's rivalry with its competitors.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has significantly improved now as compared to its released version, thanks to the recent update.]]>

Some may be questioning whether it's worth exploring the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition in 2023. It's important to note that this game refers to the 2021 upgraded versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas, as opposed to the original three games. As such, players may need some encouragement to try out these much-discussed remasters.

While the GTA Trilogy has its detractors and is known for its flaws, it's still worth highlighting the positive aspects of the game. Despite not being perfect, there are some genuinely enjoyable elements to this collection of upgraded games that players might appreciate.

1. Improved graphics and gameplay

To begin with, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has undergone remastering using Unreal Engine 4, resulting in improved graphics and better HD textures for all three games. This engine has allowed for enhanced draw distance, more precise visuals, and improved lighting, setting it apart from the original versions. Additionally, the Definitive Edition can run smoothly in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on modern consoles such as the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

While the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition offers updated graphics and some quality-of-life improvements not found in the original three titles, the core gameplay remains largely unchanged. Fans of the "classic masterpieces" should find the Definitive Editions to be familiar. However, even some of the classic bugs from the original games have returned, and the new versions also have their fair share of glitches, which players have been discussing online for the past few months.

2. Modern controls

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has made significant changes to its controls, including the introduction of the Weapon Wheel, a feature from newer GTA titles. This feature is now available in all three games in the collection. Additionally, the controls for changing radio stations have been improved for quicker and more straightforward access.

The driving experience has also been updated to align with more modern games in the series. Finally, Nintendo Switch users can take advantage of the Gyroscope pointing feature for a more immersive gameplay experience. These changes aim to enhance the overall gameplay experience for players and make it easier to enjoy the classic titles in the series.

3. Ability to restart missions and better minimap

In the original versions of the three games, players did not have the option to set up waypoints for navigation and had to rely on their instincts to travel around. While this added to the challenge and sense of exploration, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition now offers players greater accessibility with the ability to set up waypoints and receive navigation guidance on mini-maps for their chosen destinations. This feature is inspired by more modern games in the series and is a welcome addition to the Definitive Edition.

Another significant addition to the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is the ability to instantly restart missions without the need to go back and start from the beginning. This feature was not available in the original games and is one of the biggest gameplay changes in the Definitive Edition. With this new option, players can easily retry any failed missions without worrying about long loading screens or losing progress. This feature has been well-received and is considered a significant improvement to the overall gameplay experience.

4. Available on modern platforms

The remaster brings these 3 games to modern platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Rockstar Games Launcher and Steam. The original, on the other hand, is locked to PC and various old consoles of the previous generation.

Available on modern platforms

Before the release of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition on PC, it was announced that the game would also be ported to Android and iOS. However, as of now, the release date for the mobile port remains unknown, according to Take-Two. It is possible that the release of the mobile version could be delayed until after the marketing campaign for GTA 6 has begun, as Rockstar is likely focused on the development of their next major release.

A Twitter user named Gaming Detecting also speculated on the issue, suggesting that fans should not expect a release date for the Trilogy until some progress has been made on the development of GTA 6. While there has been no official announcement regarding the cancellation of the mobile port, fans can still purchase the older versions of the three games from the Google Play Store.

5. Updated effects

The original San Andreas had fog and light haze, which added to the game's LA atmosphere, but it was more of a technical limitation than an artistic choice. With increased draw distance in the Definitive Edition, players can now see everything in front of them, which can make the world feel small. It can be strange to see Mount Chiliad from the bridge near Grove Street or see the entire map while flying around in a jet.

The Definitive Edition also has enhanced details in trees and foliage, making the forests around Flint County in San Andreas and parks and neighborhoods around Liberty City look more realistic. Additionally, there are 3D parallax interiors included for many buildings and windows throughout the games, which adds more depth and life to the cities.

Looks like the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is finally coming out of Rockstar Launcher. Below are all the info available so far about its Steam/Epic release.]]>

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition was one of the biggest disappointments last year, as it was exclusive to the Rockstar store and its quality was low. On top of that, Rockstar also prevented players from buying the original games.

It looks like after a year of exclusivity they finally decided to release the game to actual storefronts. The long-awaited Steam and Epic Games Store ports of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition might come in the near future. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything available so far about GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition's Steam and Epic Games Store ports.

The Trilogy was one of Rockstar's biggest fail in recent years.

About GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Steam & Epic release

Leakers have quickly detected various lines in the code referring to other storefronts. For example, this tweet simply references "epicapps," along with the names of each of the three remasters of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. With this in the code, it is pretty obvious that the game might come out in 2023.

It is worth mentioning that Rockstar Games hasn't even confirmed that a Steam and Epic Games Store port is under development. They might want to try to sell the Rockstar version for a final time before announcing the release.

Additionally, some insiders have claimed that GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is also getting a new title update alongside its Steam/Epic port. There's plenty for GTA fans to look forward to in the upcoming weeks.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition mobile port news

Based on Take-Two Interactive's report for the fiscal first quarter of 2023, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition mobile port is expected to come out on Android and iOS before March 2023. Take-Two is the mother company of Rockstar, GTA Series' developer.

This report was revealed by a famous GTA insider - it is likely that the company revealed this info during a shareholder meeting.

The mobile ports were initially slated to be released in the first half of 2022 with an unspecified release date. Fans have been waiting for this port ever since the remaster comes out. It is pretty obvious that Rockstar is preparing for the release, as they have recently delisted Grand Theft Auto Vice City from the Google Play Store.

With the port being originally made for mobile, players should not get as many problems with it compared to the PC release.

On a related note, there has also been no information revealed about GTA San Andreas VR since its announcement on October 28, 2021.

GTA Trilogy Definitive edition has improved the game in a lot of aspects. While there are bugs and graphical errors, they will be fixed eventually.]]>

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is a remaster of the original PS2 port of GTA Trilogy. The remasters have gained a lot of new features that do not exist in the original, and in this article, we are going to list out the top 5 biggest changes in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition vs the original release of the games.

The remasters were made by Grove Street Studios, a division of Rockstar. It has gained a lot of heat due to the low quality of the remasters, with a review bomb from fans on Metacritic.

1. Longer draw distance

This is probably the biggest and the easiest to observe improvement in the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. In the original games, due to graphical restrictions, players can't really see much further than a few blocks. This is rather annoying, especially when players fly around on a helicopter or jetpack - the city just seems so small and limited.

The draw distance improvements in GTA Trilogy Definitive edition lets you see everything on the island now. However, there are people who prefer the lower drawing distance, as it lets them keep the illusion of an open world. The maps of the GTA 3D games are just too small.

2. Graphics improvements

All three games get a graphical overhaul in the Definitive Edition. While this was done by AI and has a lot of problems, the textures of objects look much nicer. Players pretty much cannot find any blurry textures from the 2000s anymore.

For gamers with top-tier PCs, the Definitive Edition also supports 4K resolution at 60fps. Rockstar has also promised to patch out the graphical bugs at a later date for players who are having problems with the game. Outside of that, players can also optimize GTA Trilogy graphic settings to make it run smoother.

3. New waypoints system

It is much easier to navigate around the cities of GTA Trilogy Remaster using the Waypoint system. Players can just pause, open up the map and set their desired location by double-clicking. Without this feature, players have to constantly open the map to navigate while playing, which makes various actions tedious and unfun. Now they can just use the waypoint system and enjoy the road.

4. GTA 5 style controls added

This is one of the most complained about features of the Original Trilogy. The controls back in the day are pretty clunky, not responsive, and hard to master. In GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, that issue is dealt with.

This mainly benefits the flying and driving controls in the game. Players can now play some of the most annoying quests like "learn to fly" without pulling their hair out because of the controls.

GTA 5 style controls added
GTA 5 weapon wheels make switching much easier.

5. Immediately restart failed missions

This is one of the biggest QoL changes that can let you finish the game in a flash. Originally, when you fail a mission you need to do all the steps and take it again. As there are quite a few hard missions, sometimes you would have to the steps again and again, which is not really a fun thing.

wasted
You can just restart immediately when wasted in missions.

In the Definitive Edition, players can immediately restart the mission if they fail, which cuts down a lot of time and effort.

Cars have always been a big part of all GTA games, and GTA Trilogy is not an exception. Here are the 5 rarest cars in the game.]]>

There are a lot of cars in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, each with its own unique appearance and attributes. While most cars in the game are easy to get, some are exclusive and only appear in certain missions in the game. In this article, we are going to list out the top 5 rarest cars in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

Table of Contents

 • 1. Pheonix
 • 2. The Euros
 • 3. Romero's Hearse
 • 4. Deluxo
 • 5. FBI car

1. Pheonix

The Pheonix is the rarest car in the GTA Trilogy. It never spawns normally on the road and can only be found on San Fierro races. Players need to start the San Fierro Hills race to play using this car.

To get Pheonix car in GTA remastered trilogy, after the race starts, just take it to the Pay'n'Spray in Doherty. Get out of the car for at least 30 seconds to fail the mission. Afterward, players will be sent to the race selector location, with the Phoenix right next to them. This action grants access to the rarest car in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

2. The Euros

The Euros is locked behind the first 2 car export lists. After players completed these lists, they can find the Euros parked at the entrance of the "Camel's Toe" in Las Venturas. To acquire the car, just drive it to your garage and save it. However, if the car is locked on spawn, players might need to use a tow truck in order to get it to their garage.

The Euros is a two-door sports car featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Its styling cues clearly resemble the Nissan 300ZX (Z32), with the rear lights and bumper from the older Nissan 300ZX (Z31).

3. Romero's Hearse

As expected from a vehicle tailored to transport the deceased, The Romero's Hearse is a black station wagon-like car with a rear compartment designed to carry a coffin. It is one of the hardest cars to get in GTA Vice City.

The Romero's Hearse only appears during the mission "Two Bit Hit" in GTA Vice City. During the mission, players need to steal it and save the car in their garage, while failing the mission in the process. This car is unique and does not spawn at all in the open world.

4. Deluxo

The Deluxo is GTA's version of the fictional DMC DeLorean from the famous Back to the Future movie trilogy. For them to spawn, players need to complete the first garage checklist at Sunshine Auto in GTA Vice City.

Outside of the above method, there's no other way to unlock the car. At least it does not cost anything. Furthermore, it only appears in GTA Vice City's story - you cannot obtain it in 3 or San Andreas.

Deluxo
Deluxo is based on a fictional car.

5. FBI car

The FBI car is probably the hardest car to get in GTA 3 if players just play the game normally. The car does not spawn on the normal map at all. Players have to go out of their way to do a 5 star wanted level rampage for FBI cars to start showing up.

Afterward, players need to eliminate the FBI officers who are driving the cars to steal them. These "FBI cars" are actually the Kuruma, painted in all black.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition requires much higher hardware than the original. Check this post to find out how to optimize its settings.]]>

GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition has finally been launched on PCs and consoles. Overall, it is regarded as one of the poorest remaster ever made, with PC players having to experience an absurd number of bugs and glitches. Furthermore, the game also performs very poorly on various systems. In this article, we are going to showcase a GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition optimization guide to make your game run better.

Table of Contents

 • 1. GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition graphic settings for performance
 • 2 - System requirements of GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy

1. GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition graphic settings for performance

Overall, GTA Remastered Trilogy actually has a fairly decent selection of graphics settings to choose from. The best part is that most of them do not affect game performance much, with only a few options that can significantly reduce your FPS during gameplay.

Gta Trilogy Definitive Edition
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has improved how the original games look by a lot.

What should be tuned down?

To get extra FPS, tune down or turn off the following settings:

 • Car Reflections (37.63% FPS cost)
 • Graphics Quality (35.63% FPS cost)

These two are the most demanding graphics options in the game. However, Graphics Quality plays a big part in making the game look good... so you might want to spare it a little bit. Additionally, you can tune down the following settings:

 • World Shadow Quality (29.67% FPS cost)
 • Depth of Field (17.86% FPS cost).

Which settings should be left alone?

The following settings have minimal impact on performance. As they are just additional effects, you can turn some of them off to free up processing power for the above options.

 • Ambient Occlusion (5.6%)
 • Distance Scaling (5.29%)
 • Anti-Aliasing (5.08%)
 • Lens Flare (4.88%)
 • Texture Quality (4.11%)
 • Bloom (3.13%)
 • Anisotropic Filtering (2.93%)
 • Reflection Quality (2.72%)
 • Streetlight Quality (2.67%)
 • Motion Blur (2.1%)
 • Vehicle Light Quality (1.9%)
 • City Glow Effect (1.85%)
 • Cloud Quality (1.28%)

Important notes about GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition graphic settings

Some settings will have more impact based on situations. For example, vehicle light qualify governs the lighting quality and shadows from vehicles at night. This means your nighttime FPS will be lowered in areas with a lot of vehicles.

Furthermore, World Shadow Quality affects all shadows produced by the game world. On Ultra settings it also renders shadows from explosions, which are very laggy. You might experience a lag-free experience... until you blow something up and get a lag spike. This is why WSQ should be left at High in most cases.

Rockstar has promised to improve the performance of the game in later patches, therefore, you probably should follow the changelogs frequently.

2 - System requirements of GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy

Overall, GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy system requirements are much higher than the original games.

Minimum PC requirements:

 • Supported OS: Windows 10 64-bit
 • Processor (CPU): Intel® Core™ i5-6600K / AMD FX-6300
 • Graphics (GPU): Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2 GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3 GB
 • Memory (RAM): 8 GB
 • Required Disk Space: 45 GB

Recommended PC requirements:

 • Supported OS: Windows 10 64-bit
 • Processor (CPU): Intel® Core™ i7-2700K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
 • Graphics (GPU): Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4 GB / AMD Radeon RX 570 4 GB
 • Memory (RAM): 16 GB
 • Required Disk Space: 45 GB

As the game is pretty poorly optimized, players might still need to apply the fixes on section 1 of this guide even if they meet the recommended system requirements.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is performing much worse than expected, with a multitude of visual bugs and issues.]]>

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition is Rockstar's latest attempt to bring iconic titles from its golden days to modern standards. However, it looks like the remastered collection of GTA has launched with a lot of issues under the hood, enough to earn it the lowest user score ever on Metacritic. In this article, we are going to showcase everything you need to know about the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition's issues.

Gta Trilogy disliked by fans
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is getting one of the lowest review scores ever.

1. Rockstar review bombed by fans

As there is no way to review the game outside of Metacritic, disappointed fans have gathered to the aggregate review score site to make their voices heard. The game trilogy has since then been review bombed so badly that it now has a user score of 0.5 on Metacritic. This is one of the lowest user scores ever, even lower than Blizzard's disaster Warcraft 3 Reforged.

Since then, a lot of fans have been demanding refunds. This is going to be nearly as big as Cyberpunk 2077's disastrous launch. Rockstar has not been doing well as of late, with GTA 6 apparently in development hell.

GTA 0.5 user score
Fans have gotten really angry with the quality of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

2. What went wrong with GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition?

Rockstar treats the fanbase badly

The remastered collection of GTA 3D universe launched with a lot of problems even before the games are released, from both Rockstar and the game itself.

Firstly, Rockstar send DMCA notices to the modders who created the best graphical upgrade mods for GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, removing their mods from the main page. Afterward, Rockstar removes the original games from all storefront. Players just can't get them anymore and any new player must either pirate or buy the remaster.

The price point of the trilogy is also disputed by a lot of players, as $60 is pretty hefty for such as remaster.

GTA removed from steam
You can no longer buy the game on Steam.

Game issues

The remasters were made by Grove Street Games, formerly War Drum Studios. They were responsible for the GTA San Andreas port of PS3 and X360, which is a major disaster on launch. The game trilogy was apparently made by an AI tool from Epic Games, which automatically scales its asset up.

As there is no human involved, there are a lot of bugs, glitches, and outright downgrades. This is unacceptable for a "definitive" version of the iconic game.

There have been a lot of issues since launch, and many of them have yet to be dealt with. Below are a few examples of why people gave it such a low user score:

 • All 3 games run at a mediocre FPS.
 • Some character models look good but others look outright bizarre.
 • Rain particle effects look very distracting.
 • Some missions can't be completed due to bugs and oversight.
 • Numerous graphical bugs can be found throughout the game.

Even the Rockstar Launcher bugs out on players as well. The PC version was down for several days for "maintenance", preventing some players from playing the game. This is due to Rockstar uploading the wrong version of the game, which includes license expired songs that they haven't removed.

GTA 3 Definitive edition has finally been released, and along with it, an array of collectible quests. Check this post to find out more.]]>

All GTA open world games have collectibles for players to find, and GTA 3 is not an exception. Players can only complete the game 100% after collecting all of them... and with the release of GTA 3 Definitive Edition, many players are playing the game again. In this article, we are going to list out all GTA 3 Definitive Edition collectibles.

This is the first game in the 3D universe that includes this mechanic. GTA Vice City collectibles and GTA San Andreas collectibles are fairly similar.

1. Hidden Packages

Similar to Vice City, there are 100 hidden packages scattered all around GTA 3's Liberty City. While most are in plain sight, some are hidden in places that players only gain access to after finishing certain storyline missions.

GTA 3's hidden packages are placed all over the place.

They have the appearance of a white bale which is tied up with brown package adhesive tape. After collecting all the packages, a rocket launcher will spawn at the hideout.

2. Stunt Jumps

Players can gain money by performing stunt jumps in various places around Liberty City. Each completed jump will yield $5,000, which get multiplied by the number of jumps completed. This means players can earn up to 1 million by completing these 20 jumps alone.

Performing insane stunt jumps also gives extra money. These are needed for 100% completion.

Players can do a lot of unique stunt jumps in this game.

3. Rampages

There are 20 rampage missions you can complete in GTA 3. To do that, players need to look for the blue skull icons scattered all over the city. Similar to stunt jumps, Rampage's reward also starts at $5,000 and increases every time players finish one. At the 20th rampage, players can get up to $100,000... and after completing all 20, they get a further bonus of $1,000,000.

Rampage quest
Rampage quests are much harder than normal content.

Rampages in GTA 3 are actually pretty hard and much more challenging than the Vice City version. They task players with killing a certain amount of enemies or destroying a certain amount of vehicles within 2 minutes.

The GTA Series is one of the biggest running series in video game history, with over a dozen titles in its timeline. Check this article to find out more about them.]]>

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series is a big franchise that spans over a dozen games in the last two decades. They often don't follow up directly on each other, with the games mainly being self-contained adventures. However, there are still certain story elements that connect the games. In this article, we are going to showcase a list of all GTA Games in order of story, from oldest to newest.

GTA games in order of story

Below is the list of all Grand Theft Auto titles arranged by their setting time and places, starting from London 1961 to San Andreas at present.

Grand Theft Auto: London 1961

Setting: London, 1961

This is probably one of the most obscure entries in the franchise. Usually, a GTA game would take place in an American town and not in Britain. This game took an even bigger step - it brought the players back to the 1960s, 20 years before the usual GTA games. There is no connection between this and the other GTA game, except for the #13 on this list.

Grand Theft Auto: London
Grand Theft Auto: London 1961

Grand Theft Auto: London 1969

Setting: London, 1969

This game is actually the first mission pack released for the original GTA. Overall, both of the packs and the original GTA game are dated in both gameplay and story. The only connection between 1969 and 1961 is their shared main characters (they don't have much personality anyway).

Grand Theft Auto: London
Grand Theft Auto: London 1969

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Setting: Vice City, 1984

Vice City Stories is a prequel to GTA Vice City, one of the best games in the franchise. The game took place two years before the main story, with players stepping into the shoes of Victor Vance, the creator of the Vance Crime Family. He is the brother of Lance Vance, the protagonist's ally-turned enemy.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Setting: Vice City, 1986

Vice City and its prequel are the most special titles in the mainline GTA games. They are set in the 80s instead of the 90-2000s like all other GTA games. However, the world and settings are perfectly realized by the game's vibrant presentations of a neon-lit Miami.

The story follows Tommy Vercetti's rise to the top of the criminal underworld. Similar to the usual GTA narratives, the game is filled with betrayals and gunfires.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Setting: San Andreas, 1992

Gang warfare and gangsta rap were huge in the 90s, and GTA San Andreas did its best to capture that period of time. The story follows CJ, a small-time criminal returning to his hometown after a period of exile. His mission is to help his family to rise up from the brink of destruction.

GTA San Andreas has a direct connection to GTA 3, with the two protagonists engaging in a race for the hand of Catalina, CJ's former girlfriend. She is one of the few San Andreas characters who appear in other GTA games.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto

Setting: Liberty City, San Andreas & Vice City, 1997

The first game that started it all. Surprisingly, when ranking GTA games in order of stories, the original is actually set in the middle of the franchise's timeline. There is no big reason behind this, as 1997 was just the year the game was released. Grand Theft Auto or GTA 1 is a pretty mediocre game by today's standards, however, it sets the foundations for later installments of the franchise.

Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Setting: Liberty City, 1998

Liberty City Stories revolves around Antonio "Toni" Cipriani, the second-in-command of the Leone Family in GTA 3. He works closely with GTA 3's main character, Claude on multiple occasions. As a prequel to GTA 3, Liberty City Stories allows players to get a glimpse of what the city looked like back in 1998.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Grand Theft Auto 2

Setting: Anywhere City, 1999 or 2013

GTA 2 is probably the weirdest game in the series... and in this game, Rockstar hasn't really known which direction the series should take. This is the only game that takes place in an ambiguous city and an ambiguous period. Fans usually picked the year 1999, as one of the radio hosts mentions that the "millennium is coming."

Grand Theft Auto 2
Grand Theft Auto 2

Grand Theft Auto Advance

Setting: Liberty City, 2000

GTA 3 is probably the game with the most connections to the other titles in the franchise. GTA Advance is another prequel of 3, which takes place a year before 3's events. In this game, players step into the shoes of Mike, who is on a vengeance mission to take revenge for his friend's untimely demise. Outside of a few shared characters to GTA 3, not much happen in Advance.

Grand Theft Auto Advance
Grand Theft Auto Advance

Grand Theft Auto 3

Setting: Liberty City, 2001

Amongst GTA Games in order of story, GTA 3 is the one game that established the series' rise to greatness. It is the first game in the 3D era. The story follows silent protagonist Claude as he attempts to track down his ex-girlfriend Catalina after her betrayal (again).

While GTA 3 was pretty innovative gameplay-wise, its setting of Liberty City is not nearly as exciting as Vice City or San Andreas.

Grand Theft Auto 3
Grand Theft Auto 3

Grand Theft Auto 4

Setting: Liberty City, 2008

As GTA 4 set in the same city as GTA 3, the developers took a big time skip to 2008. The city has definitely changed with the times, from residents to technology. GTA 4 is generally considered Rockstar's peak in story writing, with protagonist Niko Bellic coming to Liberty City in pursuit of the American dream.

GTA 4 also has two huge story expansions called The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, starring Johnny Klebitz & Luis Fernando Lopez.

Grand Theft Auto 4
Grand Theft Auto 4

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Setting: Liberty City, 2009

Another game with Liberty City as the backdrop... however, Chinatown Wars focuses on the Asian gangs in the city instead of the usual criminal underworld. The story revolves around yet another revenge story, with protagonist Huang Lee's journey to find out the truth. The best part of Chinatown Wars is probably the details about the Asian gangs and how they operate.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Grand Theft Auto 5

Setting: San Andreas, 2013

The second GTA game to set in San Andreas. Grand Theft Auto 5 brings the city into the modern era, with three protagonists instead of one. Overall, the story of GTA 5 pokes fun at the present-day world, with focuses on things like social media, celebrity status, and the government.

The city of San Andreas looks much different than the original 1992 version. Players can still find various landmarks such as CJ's house.

Grand Theft Auto 5
Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto Online

Setting: San Andreas, 2013 - Present Day

GTA Online is the first GTA game to be constantly updated. Overall, it pretty much keeps up with the real world calendar, with the beginning just after GTA 5's main campaign. With GTA 6 on the horizon, Rockstar is planning on turning GTA:O into a standalone title that gets updated alongside mainline games.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has some of the best video games ever made. It has been around for quite a while, since 1997, with over a dozen entries.]]>

GTA is a surprisingly big franchise, with the first entry of the series released back in 1997. However, it wasn't really a popular franchise until the release of GTA 3 in 2001... and because of that, the older games are usually ignored. In this article, we are going to list out all GTA games in order to figure out which is the best way to enjoy the franchise.

All GTA games in order of release date

Overall, despite some games being prequels to others in the storyline of GTA, playing GTA games in chronological order (release date) is still the best way to enjoy the franchise. We recommend skipping GTA 1 and 2 titles, as they are just too different from the usual GTA experience. It is sufficient to just watch a playthrough on YouTube.

Below is the full list of GTA games by year of release for your reference.

1. Grand Theft Auto - 1997

The gameplay of the original GTA or GTA 1 is pretty simple. It is a top-down action RPG in which players travel around the city doing quests for the criminal mobs. As it is essentially a 2D game, newer fans probably won't be able to recognize the 1997 title as a GTA game.

However, in this game, you get to visit all three cities in the GTA franchise: Vice City, Liberty City and San Andreas. This creates a foundation for all later games in the series.

Grand Theft Auto (1997)
The original Grand Theft Auto is free on Steam.

The first GTA game has two expansions Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 and Grand Theft Auto: London 1961, which just swaps the American cities for British ones.

2. Grand Theft Auto 2 - 1999

GTA 2 is probably the least successful entry in the franchise. It literally lifted the gameplay from GTA without any changes. Furthermore, it might not even be part of the GTA timeline, as GTA 2 is set within a retrofuturistic metropolis known as "Anywhere City". This location has never been mentioned in any other GTA games.

Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999)
Grand Theft Auto 2 is also free on Steam, similar to the first game.

3. Grand Theft Auto III - 2001

GTA III is the first title of the 3D universe. It is considered by many to be one of the most significant landmark games in the open-world genre. The game focuses on the silent protagonist Claude's adventure in Liberty City, GTA's version of New York.

Two prequel spinoffs were made for GTA III: Advance and Liberty City Stories. They were released in October 2004 and October 2005, respectively.

Grand Theft Auto III (2001)

4. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - 2002

GTA Vice City is the fourth main entry of the series. It sets in 1986 within the fictional Vice City (based on Miami). The story follows mobster Tommy Vercetti's rise to power after being released from prison and becoming caught up in an ambushed drug deal.

Overall, Vice City has the most unique style amongst the 3D trilogy games. Unlike the rest of the GTA games that are based on modern settings, Vice City is set in the 80s. Its spinoff, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, is a prequel set in 1984.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002)

5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - 2004

GTA: SA is the final game in the 3D trilogy, with the overall best gameplay amongst the trio. The story follows former gangster Carl "CJ" Johnson, who returns home following his mother's murder and is drawn back into a life of crime once again.

San Andreas is also the biggest and most ambitious game amongst the three. It includes three major cities in the area: Los Santos (inspired by Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). Not even GTA 5 is that expansive.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was the most successful title in the 3D era.

6. Grand Theft Auto IV - 2008

The franchise once again comes back to the fictional Liberty City. In GTA IV, players follow Niko Bellic, an Eastern European war veteran in his attempt to escape his past and make a new life. Players can roam the islands of Liberty City and the neighboring state of Alderney.

GTA IV has two expansions: The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. They focus on side characters that appear in GTA IV. The latter is generally considered one of the best expansions of all time.

Grand Theft Auto IV (2008)
GTA IV is the first and last time Rockstar do Story DLCs.

Furthermore, GTA IV also has a spin-off title called Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. This is a rather disconnected story following a triad member on his journey of revenge.

7. Grand Theft Auto V - 2013

The biggest and most popular GTA game to date, V is the first game with three protagonists instead of one. In GTA V, players control street gangster Franklin Clinton, retired bank robber Michael De Santa, and drug dealer and gunrunner Trevor Philips. In the course of the game, they will commit heists while under pressure from powerful criminals and a corrupt government agency.

Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
Grand Theft Auto V is the first game with 3 protagonists instead of just 1.

In summary, here's the list of all GTA games in order of release:

Game Release date
Grand Theft Auto October 21, 1997
Grand Theft Auto 2 September 30, 1999
Grand Theft Auto 3 October 22, 2001
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City October 27, 2002
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas October 26, 2004
Grand Theft Auto IV April 28, 2008
Grand Theft Auto V September 17, 2013

Other than these original GTA games, players can also enjoy the latest GTA trilogy remastered with enhanced features, which will be released later this year.

GTA games in order of story

Besides the chronological order in terms of release date, playing GTA games in order of story is another great way to enjoy this world. Below is a complete timeline of GTA games in order of story, from oldest to the most modern.

Overall, there are just so many GTA games with varying gameplay and story. While Rockstar usually places the spinoff titles a year or two before the main title, it's best to play the main title first to not be spoiled story-wise. Since release, some of the GTA games have also been ported to Android.

GTA Games ranked from best to worst

If you don't have enough time to experience all GTA series, you may pick the best ones to try first. Based on the Metacritic score, here is a list of all GTA games ranking from best to worst. In the case that two titles have the same score, the ones with the bigger voting base would take the top spot.

Rank Game Metacritic Score
1 Grand Theft Auto IV (2008) 98
2 Grand Theft Auto V (2013) 97
3 Grand Theft Auto III (2001) 97
4 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004) 95
5 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) 95
6 Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (2009) 90
7 Grand Theft Auto: The Lost And The Damned (2009) 88
8 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2005) 88

11 Grand Theft Auto (1997) + 2 Expansions 80
12 Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999) 70

It is generally agreed that GTA IV was the peak of GTA storytelling, with the two large story expansions improving the experience.

<![CDATA[Top 5 Reasons Players Should Try GTA 3 Definitive Edition First]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/top-5-reasons-players-should-try-gta-3-definitive-edition-first-19076 Thu, 04 Nov 2021 02:07:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/top-5-reasons-players-should-try-gta-3-definitive-edition-first-19076
The original GTA 3 is usually underestimated, with people usually skipping it for Vice City and San Andreas. Here's why you should try the remaster 1st.]]>

The original GTA 3 is actually often overlooked, with people usually skipping it for Vice City and San Andreas. The main reason behind GTA 3's unpopularity is its clunky controls, which get improved in later games. The GTA Trilogy remasters are definitely going to change that. In this article, we are going to showcase why you should start the trilogy with GTA 3 Definitive Edition first.

1. Liberty City will look much better

The remastered version is going to boost GTA 3's Liberty City to the next graphical tier, with multiple resolutions supported, from Full HD to 4K. The original GTA 3 was released way back in 2001, with the maximum resolution being 1280x960. Anything bigger makes the game look really stretched.

Liberty City
Liberty City is GTA's version of New York.

Liberty City is going to be improved significantly graphic-wise. This is a great drawing point for players who have tried the original game - the brand new graphics would definitely improve your experience driving around in Liberty City.

2. Vice City and San Andreas might overshadow it

It is hard to come back to an older game when you have experienced a better version of it. If this is your first time playing the GTA 3D trilogy, it is best to start with the first title. Both GTA Vice City and San Andreas are considered pinnacles of game design and aesthetics. Furthermore, the latter is even regarded as one of the best games in the series, comparable to even GTA 5.

As 3 is the first game in the series, there is a noticeable lack of various QoL features in comparison with its sequels.

3. GTA 3 is a great introduction to the series

GTA 3 Definitive Edition kicks off a fairly basic story. All players have to do is to drive to a few places and take some simple quests. Overall, this serves as a decent first tutorial for the new control scheme, with players being able to adjust themselves while exploring Liberty City

Claude
Claude, the main character of GTA 3

The simpler missions allow you to complete the game faster as well. There are not many quests in 3 as Vice City or San Andreas, and they are also more simplistic. You can just have a bit of fun, read the story, and move on.

4. Reliving the great story all over again

Many older players started their journey into the GTA franchise with this particular game. Because of that, it just makes sense to start with 3 first when playing the remaster. Some of the events in 3 are referenced in later games of the series, which means playing 3 first is more or less essential.

5. Seeing the changes in GTA 3 Definitive Edition vs Original

The bigger the contrast between the original and remaster, the better your experience would be. While GTA San Andreas was released just 3 years after GTA 3, it is actually much better with lots of improvement in various aspects.

With the remaster bringing it up to par, gamers would definitely enjoy GTA 3 more. Additionally, the remaster of this title does not use the original game's blue filter, which makes everything look more natural and realistic.

GTA 3D trilogy is one of the most iconic games of the 2000s era. Check this post to find out more about their 2021 version, GTA Remastered Trilogy.]]>

GTA is one of the biggest video games series ever created. Amongst them, the 3D trilogy (GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas) is arguably the most iconic. They have been an integral part of the childhoods of many modern gamers.

Therefore, in celebration of the 20-year anniversary of GTA 3, Rockstar has announced a GTA Remastered Trilogy for the HD games, dubbed GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. In this article you will find GTA Trilogy Remastered confirmed information on its release date, system requirements and notable features.

Gta Trilogy Hero
GTA Remastered Trilogy: Definitive Edition is coming soon.

1. GTA Remastered Trilogy release date

The Definitive Edition began as rumors after a collection of game titles was leaked from a database. According to a recent announcement from Rockstar, the Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy is going to be released on November 11, 2021.

GTA trilogy remastered price is $59.99, a little bit steep for 20 year-old remasters.

The game is multi-platform and will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. A mobile version for iOS and Android will launch in 2022. The PC/Console versions will support up to 4K resolution textures and 60 FPS

GTA Vice City
GTA Vice City's Miami looks better than ever.

2. GTA Remastered Trilogy system requirements

Rockstar has announced the official system requirement for the games on its website. As you might expect for a remaster of 20 year-old titles, the GTA trilogy remastered system requirements are fairly low.

GTA Remastered Trilogy minimum settings on PC:

 • OS: Windows 10 64-Bit
 • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K/AMD FX-6300
 • Memory: 8GB
 • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB/AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
 • Disk: 45GB

GTA Remastered Trilogy recommended settings on PC:

 • OS: Windows 10 64-Bit
 • Processor: Intel Core i7-2700K/AMD Ryzen 5 2600
 • Memory: 16Gb
 • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB
 • Disk: 45GB

However, some of these requirements completely eliminate any chance that a low end PC would be able to run GTA Remastered Trilogy. The 3GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM are probably the biggest hurdles to overcome. You probably will still be able to run GTA Remastered trilogy as long as you fulfill these two requirements. It is unsure if Windows 10 would be enforced or not.

3. Graphics differences between GTA Remastered Trilogy and the originals

Compared to the trio of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, the GTA Triology remastered showcase more outstanding features.

Better draw distance

The draw distance is the maximum distance of objects in a three-dimensional scene from the rendering engine. The game does not render polygons beyond that distance. This is why newer games look super realistic while older games do not.

This change will massively improve how the cities look. In the original 2000s version, players could only see a short distance of what was ahead of them, with the rest covered in fog. This was because of the limited technology at the time - no graphic card could render such a big area.

Gta Trilogy Remastered Vice City
Better draw distance is the very first improvement in GTA trilogy remastered in 2021.

In GTA Definitive edition, high vantage points will display the entire city for players to enjoy.

More prominent facial features

Faces are probably the most overlooked part of a character model in older games. In the original GTA 3D games, characters have blurry and unclear faces, as the engine cannot render high-res details for all faces. Because of that, players could never really figure out their character's actual facial details.

Rockstar has completely changed that in GTA Remastered Trilogy. All character faces are now extremely clear and readable. Questlines will definitely be more fun now, with players getting exact representations of the characters they interact with.

Gta Trilogy Claude
You can now see Claude, the protagonist of GTA 3 much clearer.

Unique character models

Character models have seen the greatest changes. As the game uses Fortnite's Unreal Engine, all character models are going to have a unique cartoonish look similar to Fortnite. Characters' hands now have fingers. In the original game, the characters' fingers are joined together.

Gta Trilogy character models
GTA Trilogy character models actually have fingers now

Better lighting

Light sources are much more prominent now. Light from natural sources, headlights from vehicles, and even streetlights will cast shadows at the right place, based on the direction of the source. This lighting fix makes the game look much more realistic.

Better fire effects

Fire is a big part of players' experience in GTA. Therefore, in the remastered version, Rockstar has completely overhauled it. The flame effects of weapons like the Molotovs or Flamethrowers are much more realistic now.

More vibrant colors

In the original games, the color of objects is fairly blurry because of the low resolution. GTA Remastered Trilogy fixes this issue, making colors look more realistic for objects. Metallic surfaces get a nicer shine as well.

GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition is coming out very soon. Fans from the GTA forum have been able to dig out some info about the game, including system requirements.]]>

Rockstar has not released any new GTA games for almost a decade now. With GTA 6 nowhere on the horizon, looks like they have decided to pacify fans with GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition. Based on leaks, the game is scheduled for a November 2021 release. In this article, we are going to showcase GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition system requirements for PC.

Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy Definitive Edition
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition is almost here.

1 - GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition system requirements for PC

The system requirements of the upcoming GTA Trilogy remastered have been leaked by the GTA fan forum, with people spreading the word on Twitter. Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements to run GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition.

Minimum requirements:

 • Intel Core i5-2700K / AMD FX-6300
 • Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
 • 8 GB RAM
 • 45 GB Storage Space
 • Windows 10

Recommended specs:

 • Intel Core i7-6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
 • Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB / AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB
 • 16 GB RAM
 • 45 GB Storage Space
 • Windows 10

Overall, in 2021's standards, these system requirements are not too demanding. However, this completely takes the game out of the low-end gaming zone. The minimum requirements of 8GB of ram and 2 to 3GB of VRAM are needed to run the game on Unreal 4, the new engine from Epic. Low-end players probably will need to upgrade their gaming rig if they want to experience GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition.

2 - Is GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition cross-platform?

Besides the upcoming PC/Console release, the GTA Triology remastered game has just been confirmed for iOS and Android. Apparently, it might comes out somewhere in the first half of 2022. Apparently, the Rockstar studio that worked on GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has already completed the PC/Console version and is currently working on the mobile version.

next gen
GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition system requirements for Console is fairly simple: PS 5, XBOX Series S, Switch.

Additionally, to prepare for GTA Trilogy's coming, Rockstar has also removed all the older versions from Digital Retailers. While we can always download the old versions from a pirate site somewhere, there is no way to pay to get them anymore.

3 - What will be the differences between GTA remastered and original?

According to Rockstar Games, here's what to expect from the upcoming Triology remasters:

Graphical upgrades

The new remastered trilogy will feature graphical improvements across the board for all three titles. Furthermore, they will also maintain the look and feels of the original games. Overall, with the system requirements being this formidable, it is expected that GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition would look super good.

Modern gameplay enhancements

As the original came out a long time ago, their controls were super clunky, especially in special sequences like remote controlling a plane. Therefore, the remastered is going to completely fix that issue. Furthermore, they are going to streamline the gameplay of all three tittles so that players will have a streamless transition.

Is there any new content?

Based on Rockstar's focus on remastering graphics and gameplay, new content is going to be minimal. The games are old after all, with the code base likely gone.

In this age of creative bankruptcy, companies are trying to remaster old games and sell them to players a second time. There are good remasters like Mass Effect Legendary Edition or Demon's Souls, however, there are also blatant cash grabs ones. It is too early to tell if GTA Remastered Trilogy would be good or bad, but these leaks are alarming.

Here we got the newest leaks about GTA Remastered Trilogy to see if it is worth playing or not. Based on the previous leaks, this game is going to be released in November 2021.

Who made GTA Remastered Trilogy?

According to a supposed leaker on Reddit, fans should not expect GTA 5 or GTA 4 level of realism or details. Apparently, Rockstars is not patching the old games into the GTA 5 engine. They are just upscaling the original Renderware-made games into the Unreal 4 engine.

Gta Rockstar Trilogy Remaster Leaked
It makes sense that GTA Remastered Trilogy does not have much new content, as it is just a remaster, not a remake.

The remasters were developed by Rockstar's Studio Dundee, who used an internal tool from Epic Games to transfer the texture and rendering data from Renderware to Unreal 4. Rockstar was going to pick another engine but the fact that Epic has this tool sold it.

How will GTA Remastered Trilogy look?

Based on the leak, in short, we are going to get about the same graphics with slight enhancements to faces, better animations, and overall better lighting. Below are the details:

 • Models now have a high polygon count, everything looks clearer now with upscaled textures.
 • Animations in game are identical to the original version, however, cutscenes animations are improved. Models now have fingers instead of oven mitts for hands.
 • Added realistic facial animations.
 • Car damage is more dynamic. The car will be damaged at the point you hit instead of becoming a "damaged car" model.
 • The city will look exactly the same, with the same Ped AI.
Gta Remastered Trilogy Logos
The Logos of GTA Remastered Trilogy has also been leaked as well.

Is there any new content?

According to the leaks, there is going to be almost nothing new content wise. They are just adding in some of the skins from the later editions of the original games, alongside a "xmas" cheat code that covers liberty city in snow. Apparently, the developer has already stopped working on the game. They are now working on its mobile ports for a possible Q2 2022 release.

Controls are apparently better now. The leaker claims that Dundee has made huge enhancements to the dated shooting mechanics in GTA III -> San Andreas so that they feel more like IV and V. Shooting will have a free aim and auto aim mode. However, players can still change to the classic mode with the old lock on controls.

Interestingly, the leaker also reveals that the supposedly high launch price of $50 is just a placeholder. The 3 games will likely be 29.99 or $39.99.

The three protagonists are going to get better facial animation... and that's about it.

Fans reactions

Overall, most fans of the series are voicing their concern about the pricing, as the previous leaked prices of $70 and $50 are too high. Most of them are also expecting much better graphics than usual, so many will be disappointed if this leak turns out to be correct.

GTA Trilogy Remastered was just leaked by the Korean rating board - it might come out on mid or late November this year.]]>

Currently, a lot of projects related to the GTA series are being developed by Rockstar, including the leaked GTA Trilogy Remastered and GTA 6. In this article, we are going to make a comparison between the two leaks to show you why GTA Trilogy Remastered is a more exciting release.

1 - GTA Remastered Trilogy release date confirmed

With this year being the 20th anniversary of GTA III, the game that started it all, Rockstar has decided to release a remaster of all 3 PS2-era GTA Games. While this information is not officially confirmed by the company itself, so many sources have scattered leaks about the GTA remastered version to the point that a reliable source has confirmed the trilogy's existence and release date.

GTA trilogy remastered is going to bring the PS2 classics to the modern era.

All three of these games are being remastered using Unreal Engine and will be a mix of "new and old graphics". Besides the PC release, Rockstar is also bringing the games to PS5, Switch and Xbox consoles. As the Switch can run the game, there might even be a mobile version later.

GTA Remastered Trilogy release date

A new database entry for something called "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition" was leaked recently by the South Korean rating board. Apparently, the plans around these remastered GTA games had changed and shifted quite a lot over the last year.

Based on other sources, originally, Rockstar was planning to release the game in October or early November. However, the plan has shifted once again, which pushed the release date of GTA Remastered Triology back to November, 2021.

2 - GTA Remastered Trilogy vs GTA 6?

About GTA 6 leaks

Unlike other companies such as CDPR who likes to lie to gamers with flashy trailers, Rockstar usually chooses to keep players in the dark. Over the years, there have been a lot of rumors on the release of GTA 6, but Rockstar hasn't confirmed anything yet.

With GTA 5 being the most successful game in the last 8 years, the hype is definitely real. However, Rockstar is also focusing a lot of resources on GTA Online, with plans on releasing a standalone version of GTA 5's online mode that syncs with GTA 6. This means we might not be able to see footage of GTA 6 for at least a few more years.

Gta Vice City Grand Theft Auto Rockstar Games
Overall, GTA 6 is still quite a while away, and it is going to be in the Modern era.

Why is GTA Remastered Trilogy is worth hyping for?

GTA Remastered Trilogy, on the other hand, is 2 months away from release. Furthermore, we already know the quality of their story and quests... while GTA 6 is literally on a blank slate.

This is why you should focus on GTA Remastered Trilogy for now. Gurugamer is going to report more about it as soon as more information is available.

 • GTA Remasters announcement
 • Recent rumors related to the GTA Remasters

Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two has confirmed that they are working on 3 unannounced remasters of previously released games. Coupled with the recent news about the various strikes on the modding community, it is very likely that they are going to finally bring the three older GTA games to the modern era.

Modern Vice City
Modern Vice City is likely to be the settings of GTA 6.

In this article, we are going to list out everything currently available about the rumored GTA Remasters.

GTA Remasters announcement

The publisher confirmed the in-development titles in an investor presentation published this week. It lists three unannounced "new iterations of previously released titles". These projects are listed alongside the upcoming next-gen version of GTA V and Kerbal Space Program, and a planned standalone version of GTA Online. On a side note, looks like GTA Online is going to continue ad-infinitum, even after GTA 6's release.

GTA protagonists
GTA Remasters protagonists would look awesome in modern graphics.

Take-Two has been displaying continued interest in creating remasters of its previous titles. Mafia: Trilogy, a collection of remasters and a remake, was released in May 2020. Furthermore, the company's CEO also stated that they are not going to create simple ports - this confirms that if the three GTA games get ported, it is going to be a remaster.

Recent rumors related to the GTA Remasters

During Take-Two’s third-quarter earnings call in February, Zelnick offered a non-committal response when asked about the potential for remastering older Grand Theft Auto games. However, he did hint that any update on the company's release schedule will come from Rockstar games. This means the remakes are going to be a Rockstar game.

Additionally, the company has been going around banning all the "GTA Vice City" mods from GTA 5. They have never done this before - the reason behind this is that they are probably creating a remake.

GTA Trilogy
It is about time that the legendary GTA Trilogy gets the remaster treatment.

If they are going to reveal one or more GTA games as part of the remaster projects, the obvious choice is GTA 3 which has its 20th anniversary this October. However, they can definitely surprise fans by announcing something that no one would see coming. The Original GTA 1 is also celebrating its 25th birthday in the same month.

GTA San Andreas
Having GTA Remasters San Andreas in GTA 5 graphics would be amazing.

Both titles are so old that only a complete remake could do it. However, the Liberty City settings have been used in multiple games, with the last time being GTA 4 in 2008. On the other hand, Vice City is barely shown. A Vice City remake would definitely be a good opening if GTA 6 release is in the same city.

GTA San Andreas is the least likely game to get a remake. However, if it does get one, exploring the casino city of Las Venturas in the modern era should be a blast.
