Garena has unveiled the Free Fire Esports 2025 roadmap, featuring a lineup of exciting tournaments. J]]>

Garena has unveiled the Free Fire Esports 2025 roadmap, featuring a lineup of exciting tournaments. Just like in 2024, regional World Series (FFWS) events will take center stage. Two major international competitions are planned: the Esports World Cup, set for July 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the FFWS Global Finals, scheduled for November 2025.

Free Fire Esports 2025 roadmap

Free Fire Esports 2025 Roadmap
Free Fire Esports 2025 Roadmap

Next year, Garena will host official Free Fire events across five regions:

 1. Southeast Asia
 2. Brazil
 3. LATAM
 4. Middle East and Africa (MEA)
 5. Pakistan

The year will be split into two seasons: Spring and Fall. The top teams from the spring season will advance to compete in the Esports World Cup in July 2025.

Southeast Asia & Brazil

The Fall season will include official tournaments in the same regions, leading up to the highly anticipated FFWS Global Finals 2025. Set to take place at the end of the year, this grand event will see the best teams from around the world compete for the championship title and a share of the prize pool.

Next, the developer has introduced a Pre-Season FFWS event for Southeast Asia and Brazil as part of the Free Fire Esports 2025 roadmap. The Free Fire World Series SEA 2025 Spring will begin in April, featuring intense competition among the best teams from Southeast Asia. The top-performing teams from this event will secure spots in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Additionally, the FFWS SEA Fall is scheduled to commence in August 2025.

Brazil is set to host two editions of the regional World Series in 2025. The spring season will run from April to July, while the fall season will take place between August and October. Notably, Brazilian team Fluxo Esports claimed victory in the FFWS 2024 Global Finals, held in December 2024, further solidifying the region's dominance in Free Fire Esports.

LATAM

What’s more, Garena has scheduled two major events in LATAM for 2025. The EWC Qualifier will take place from April to June, paving the way for teams to compete in the Esports World Cup. Later in the year, the FFWS LATAM will run from August to October, featuring top teams battling for regional glory.

MEA

The Free Fire Mid-Season Clash will kick off 2025 as the first tournament for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) regions. Following this, the FFWS MEA is set to take place from August to October, marking the second major regional event of the year.

Pakistan

Pakistan will host only two local qualifiers for Free Fire Esports in 2025. The first qualifier is scheduled for May and June, while the second will run from August to October, providing teams with opportunities to showcase their skills on the competitive stage.

Riot Games has teamed up with LINKIN PARK for the 2024 Worlds Anthem. Find out more about the 2024 League of Legends World Championship!]]>

Riot Games has officially announced that Linkin Park will perform the 2024 Worlds Anthem, "Heavy Is The Crown." Fans can watch the music video on YouTube or stream the song on any music platform starting Tuesday, September 24, at 8:00 AM PT.

“Heavy Is The Crown” comes after Linkin Park's #1 hit “The Emptiness Machine,” their first new music in seven years. That song quickly rose to the top of the charts with over 80 million streams, and the band kicked off a 6-date arena tour. From Zero, their 8th studio album, will be released on November 15 through Warner Records.

“It’s been an amazing experience partnering with Riot to bring this anthem to the global League of Legends community. The song is a real highlight of this new era for us, harnessing our signature sound and infusing it with fresh energy. We’re so excited for players and fans to experience this!” said Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda.

You can watch "The Emptiness Machine" official MV here:

Maria Egan, Global Head of Music at Riot Games also shared that the 2024 Worlds anthem is a highly anticipated moment for League of Legends players each year and has become an important part of global music. The developer is excited to partner with Linkin Park for this year’s anthem as they begin this new chapter. The lyrics of ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ beautifully reflect the story for this year’s Worlds and enhance the themes in our music video.

Billboard describes Linkin Park’s return as “triumphant,” joining previous Worlds Anthem performers like Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, Zedd, and NewJeans. These anthems have collectively earned over 10 billion streams across various platforms. Recently, NewJeans’ 2023 Worlds anthem “GODS” set a record for the biggest debut in anthem history, with nearly 270 million streams and almost 100 million views on the League of Legends YouTube channel.

This achievement is historic and will be remembered as a significant moment for T1 in the world of esports.]]>

After four exciting days of gaming at the League of Legends Esports World Cup (EWC 2024), T1 won the tournament by defeating Top Esports. Despite doubts from fans and experts about T1's abilities, the team did it.

T1's win at the Esports World Cup not only earns them $400,000 and a valuable trophy but also marks their successful debut in the first-ever LoL event at the tournament. This achievement is historic and will be remembered as a significant moment for T1 in the world of esports.

T1 - The Esports World Cup 2024’s Winner

When T1 lost to KT Rolster on June 29, in the LCK Summer split, the team was clearly struggling. They needed help adapting to the current League of Legends meta, losing team fights, and lacking their usual individual brilliance. As a result, leading into the Esports World Cup 2024, T1 wasn't seen as a top pick by fans.

However, everything turned around when T1 defeated one of the LPL's toughest teams, Bilibili Gaming. T1 displayed impressive resilience with innovative draft strategies like Zeus picking Zeri for the Toplane. They navigated late-game team fights skillfully and also triumphed in individual duels.

This is a significant moment for T1 in the world of esports.

Next, T1 faced off against LCS' Team Liquid in a thrilling series. Despite being the expected favorites, T1 faced tough competition, with Team Liquid nearly clinching victory. Gumayusi and Oner delivered standout performances, contributing to T1's 2-1 triumph in the series.

In the Grand Final, Game 1 was completely dominated by Top Esports. Each of their five players performed exceptionally well, leading to a swift victory in just twenty-three minutes. This raised concerns that T1 might struggle against such a formidable opponent.

Against all expectations, and guided by Faker and his four talented teammates, T1 staged a remarkable comeback to win the series. Oner's decisive shot-calling and Keria's exceptional support play were particularly noteworthy in their victory.

In this tournament, T1 secured victories in the following series:

 • Quarterfinal: 2-1 vs Bilibili Gaming
 • Semifinal: 2-1 vs Team Liquid
 • Grand Final: 3-1 vs Top Esports

Faker - The Esports World Cup 2024 Grand Final’s MVP

No one in the LoL community can deny the Faker’s talent and efforts over the past 10 years. In EWC 2024, this legendary player won another big international trophy and was named MVP in the Grand Final as well.

Faker - EWC 2024 Grand Final’s MVP

In the Esports World Cup 2024, all three teams T1 faced banned many of Faker's preferred Midlane champions. Tristana, a highly potent champion in the current meta, was notably unavailable to Faker during the Grand Final against Top Esports.

In the first game against Top Esports, Faker picked Corki but struggled in the laning phase against Top Esports' Creme. However, he bounced back by selecting champions like Ahri, Azir, and Yasuo in the following games, winning three in a row and securing the trophy for T1. The Yasuo pick in the decisive final game was crucial, as it effectively neutralized Creme's Corki.

During the post-game interview, he was questioned about how he managed to stay at the pinnacle of the LoL world after so many years.

"I think it's because I am trying to improve all the time. I try to be better. And of course, I have good teammates over here and the fans," he replied.

Gumayusi - T1’s Unsung Hero in EWC 2024

T1's unsung hero and consistent performer is their ADC, Gumayusi. His impressive champion pool and tactical movements across the Rift, coupled with his impeccable spacing in team fights, set him apart as an extraordinary player.

T1's unsung hero and consistent performer - Gumayusi.

In the EWC 2024, T1 played a total of 10 matches, facing Bilibili Gaming and Team Liquid 3 times each, and Top Esports 4 times. Throughout these matches, Gumayusi chose a different ADC champion each time. His picks included:

 • Against Bilibili Gaming: Kai'Sa, Senna, Jhin
 • Against Team Liquid: Ezreal, Caitlyn, Sivir
 • Against Top Esports: Zeri, Kalista, Ashe, Xayah

EWC 2024 marked Gumayusi's first professional encounter against JackeyLove from Top Esports in a League of Legends esports match. Despite this, with Keria's assistance, Gumayusi emerged victorious.

The final match of League of Legends World Championship 2021 will take place on November 6. See which teams made it to the quater finals and get the chance to claim the champion title this year!]]>

The World Championship is the pinnacle of the League of Legends calendar, and after a hard-fought Group Stage, the initial field of 24 teams has been whittled down to eight ahead of the knock-out stages, with the destination of the Summoner’s Cup to be decided on Finals day.

Worlds 2021 Photo
The World Championship of League of Legends will find its winner on November 6.

DWG KIA were the favorites going into the tournament and they remain in that position at GG.BET, one of the most popular esports bookmakers according to esportsbettingtop.com. Heading into the semifinals, they rate DWG as the 2.0 leading contender.

The favorites are in that position for a reason. The reigning champions are clearly out to establish a LOL dynasty and have been in determined mood throughout the tournament so far. They have the most complete roster in the world of LOL and they crushed their opponents in the Group stage, with a 6-0 win-loss record. They will be up against the sole European representative, MAD Lions in the last eight, but MAD just sneaked through their Group with a 4-4 record and will struggle to match their rivals.

Dwg Kia
DWG KIA is a formidable rival for any other team at Worlds 2021.

If the bookmakers are correct and DWG progress from that tie, they will be up against the winners of the T1 versus HLE quarter final. T1 will be big favorites to win that game, after their impressive 5-1 record in their Group. Hanwha finished in second place in their section after losing a tiebreaker with EDG, but recent history favors T1, who beat Hanwha 3-2 in the LCK Regional Finals last month. It’s also worth noting that T1 split their league series with DWG this season so will be confident if they come up against the favorites in the Finals.

The other side of the draw looks more open. RNG came out of Group C with a solid 4-2 record and victory in the tie-breaker against Hanwha, and they have the potential to go all the way in this competition, but they will be up against the resilient EDG, a team that has shown the ability to adapt to each new challenge and come through adversity, thanks partly to their stacked roster. They also went into the last eight with a 4-2 record and will be tough opponents to get past.

Cloud9
Cloud9 is the only representative from North America remaining now.

The final bracket features the tournament’s only remaining North American team, Cloud9, who scraped into the last eight after Group A ended in a three-way tie for second place. Their 2-4 record didn’t suggest they are in the form to go far in this competition and against Gen G, they face a tough task in the quarters.

Gen G emerged from the crazy Group D, which finished with all four teams holding a 3-3 record and showed their composure in winning both tiebreaker games. Although they are rated as fifth favorites in the tournament betting at 19.0, they have the consistency to spring a surprise.

The best-of-five quarter finals will be played from October 22 to October 25, with the semi-finals on October 30 and 31 and the finals on November 6.

<![CDATA[Why Should You Participate In A College Esports Tournament?]]> https://gurugamer.com/esports/why-should-you-participate-in-a-college-esports-tournament-14642 Mon, 30 Nov 2020 10:00:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/esports/why-should-you-participate-in-a-college-esports-tournament-14642
Read on to find out all the reasons...]]>

Collegiate esports has continued to gain popularity from a mere twenty-five schools at its inaugural in 2009 to above 170 schools, including universities. The game has attracted college scholarships amounting to more than $16 million.

Esports minors learn the skills by joining teams in high schools or universities under the guidance of a coach who guides them on running drills, strategy development, and reviews before actively participating in a college esports tournament with different schools within the states.

Playing Games

What are college esports tournaments?

College esports tournaments are a fast-growing e-game played using computers. The word esports stands for electronic sports and are played between professionally trained individuals or teams. The game is mostly streamed live on Twitch Television Network, a live video streaming service provider and an amazon subsidiary.

The teams come up with their team jerseys and the esports fans are free to wear their team’s jerseys, attend the tournaments in the arenas or watch live on Twitch. The players are allowed to freely communicate with their teammates or coaches during the game.

In the USA, collegiate esports began in 2009 with about 75 schools that formed esports clubs and played an undefined number of video games in tournaments. The game has currently spread into many countries around the world, with thousands of colleges taking part.

The NACE (national association of college esports) is the umbrella body which organizes tournaments and programs for colleges to participate in. Although there is an argument on whether the NCAA has the right to take control of collegiate esports given that esports is viewed as a sedentary game other than an athletic endeavor.

What are the esports programs to prepare for?

Esports games do not require large stadiums like the traditional athletics games, but an arena or a renovated classroom can perfectly serve for a tournament. Schools and colleges arrange funding through partnering with sponsors and game developers for the supply of items like team jerseys, computers, practice facilities, and coaches.

Before we list the major esports programs, you also need to keep in mind that it should not stop your academic preparation of any kind. Students must always know the importance of maintaining a balance between studies and other activities. There are engineering and MBA essay services that can help you do your assignments successfully on time and provide you a quality that your teachers always expect. The first recommendation in this regard is always EduBirdie as students and teachers have trusted it for years for their academic assignment writing work.

Playing Games 1

Tespa

Tespa has its background in Texas and was formed by the Texas esports Association and later became a subsidiary of the blizzard. By 2019, it had hosted tournaments like Overwatch collegiate championships, call of duty, and Hearthstone collegiate programs. This is a national tournament open to any university student within the USA and Canada.

Collegiate Starleague

This was the pioneering esports program in 2009 and has grown to more than 1800 colleges and 11,000 teams and offers online services like league operations, development of curriculum, and intramural league.

The main sponsors of the game include league of legends, street fighter, gears, NBA 2K, overwatch, and CS:GO. Its upcoming tournaments include Super Smash bros, street fighter, and Fortnite, all set for December 6, 2020.

College league of legends

It is a video game where multiple online players get engaged in a battle arena developed by riot games. Teams seek to destroy their opponent’s base and bring down towers towards victory.

The program features weekly matches between schools based in the USA and Canada and the finals are held live in LA.

Electronic gaming federation

Founded in 2013, the EGF is a private esports entity whose mandate is to operate in an esports-friendly environment. It aims to build, govern, and offer support to students to grow and develop in an ecosystem that offers an activity-filled academic learning system. This in turn helps them in all aspects including writing papers, self-confidence and overall competitiveness.

EGF programs offer education programs for esports to colleges and high schools that enable learners to access live broadcasting of esports events.

Why is it fun and interesting to join esports programs?

Esports is full of fun and you’re not limited on how many leagues you participate in as long as you get registered through a program. Globally, esports revenue continues to soar to more than 3billion annually shared between players, gaming developers, and sponsors.

Esports’ popularity has soared with TV. Channels fighting to air the championships live and the prize tags continue to increase, with some games attracting prizes amounting to $3million for winners and 50 thousand for runners up.

Unlike traditional athletics, where injuries are common, injuries are unheard of in esports because all you do is sit on a gaming chair in an arena and play on a computer.

Conclusion

Esports is headed towards landslide recognition globally and it might overtake the traditional athletic games owing to their popularity among the young generation. Gaming companies and an unlimited number of sponsors have teamed up to make esports a reality in mainstream colleges and outside the institutions of learning. Looking into the figures of cash involved and the large viewership during tournaments, it is evident that esports will soon become part of undergraduate programs.
